Also, don't look now, but according to NBA.com the Kings are not only #6 in the league in scoring, BUT THEY'RE #5 IN DEFENSE AS WELL!!! Who ever thought the day would come where we'd see the Sacramento Kings as a top 5 defensive team? Rejoice!

Uhh....you're looking at the defensive rankings upside down there bud.

Did you really think the Warriors were the #1 defensive team?

Straight from NBA.com. Read it and weep...

That table is a sortable table that shows the relative ranking for this column category you select. By default it sorts on defensive rebounds per game...Kings are #5 in that category. NBA.com does not have an aggregate defensive ranking available.
This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.

^^Yeah, the link you just posted is to rebounds per game. We're doing well there, and that's good, but nothing there is actually measuring team defense (blocks and steals certainly don't measure that).

The link on the first page was to points allowed per game--where we were 5th, as in we allow the fifth most points per game.

Now to be totally fair, that's not a particularly strong measure of team defense either, since you have to account for pace. But it's fair to say we're certainly still a long ways away from being a good defensive team.

basketball-reference, an excellent source, currently rates you 25th out of 30 teams in defensive rating, which measure how much the opposing team would score in 100 possessions. You would give up 109.9 points a game.

On the top right.

Well, to be fair, New Orleans is currently 29th out of 30 defensively.

Well if they could trade for another Okafor, they probably would. Unless he actually cost money or something.

If we were in the top 10 defensively it would pretty much prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that "defense" doesn't exist. :P
