...Before people start pointing to these last two games and try to make a case that since Tyreke Evans did't come through for us with the ball in his hands in the last possession of regulation twice in a row, that he is therefore not a team leader and can't lead this team to greatness, and perhaps (GASP!) should be traded?
I myself do not share this sentiment, I simply attribute it to him being human, and a YOUNG human at that. But I just wonder (considering how hot & cold this fanbase has gotten as of late) how many more games like this we might end up seeing before people (who were once so high on him) start calling for his head.
Just curious...

MJ said it best, "you miss 100% of the shots you don't take." Lebron took a while to become that go-to guy and kobe didn't have to be that guy for the first few years of his career, so he didn't have as much pressure as evans does now. I'm sure some people will whisper, but the guy is going to learn eventually what he can and cannot do. So far in the cannot list is going 1 on 1 with kobe or lebron...

Yeah I agree. He came through for us in every other game because he was being guarded by Charlie Bell and Kirk Hinrich. Hopefully one day Evans is going to realize himself that it's better to set up something for someone who isn't being guarded by LeBron or Kobe. But if not I'm hoping the excuse is that Westphal is giving him free reign in the clutch to see what he can and can't do. (It'll have to be done for a number of games against different opponents for him to get a good idea).
I can see him doing that because of the way he started the season. They looked for Kevin Martin too much and Westphal never tried to see what the team could do until he was forced into it by injury. I'd like to think it's him improving as a coach.

tyreke is only gonna get better....in a couple of years...if and when he perfects his jumper.....he'll be able to go 1 on 1 with those guys....i can assure you.....with that said.....i like that tyreke is failing (to some degree) im glad everything is not coming to him THAT too easy i don't want him to be like lebron that's been almost flawless his first 6 years in the league and now his 7th is coming out to be a complete head case......he needs to come down from his celebrity cloud....he's just a ball player he needs to remember that....i don't want tyreke to be sensational for 6 years straight and then think he's the sh*t and start to go hollywood...i rather the circumstances keep him humble and he learns to be a true winner the right way...this is the right way!!! with that said i can definately agree with cuad's statement on PW's coaching method to see what tyreke is trully made of!!!

Hopefully, everyone will cool down on overrating Evans.
Yes I think he's good and can be a top player in this league, but lets leave it at that. We all hate how every other fan overrates their players (Bynum, Randolph, Gallo, Jennings, etc.) how bout we don't become one of them?

Tyreke will not become a great closer until he gets a consistant jumper. Right now he is too predictable.

This is true... The thing is Tyreke is working on it and improving it so eventually he will have that consistent J.

I thought he played iso too much at the end of the last two games and agree 100% he needs to learn to play with his teamates instead of by himself.
HOWEVER
I'd rather have Reke with the ball and going through the growing pains then your plan B whatever it is. I don't care to know whatever it is though. He'll figure it out. I'm confident of that.

I see Evans as the real deal and buy into the Evans super rookie talk. Some people just ignore the last word in "super rookie." Rookies make rookie mistakes no matter how good they are.
