Anyone think cole aldrage is going to be a bigger more skilled brockman. If nothing else, brokmans is showing that a big guy like him is all we need to be in the playoffs every year. if only brockman was taller

I say we just genetically blend the two players togther and we'll have an amazing center.

You know, I'm not opposed to this idea, but I just really like having Brockmans energy coming off the bench. I think the issue is that he needs to be given more minutes, not that he start.

I don't get the whole argument that he's a great "bench guy," but not a "starter." If he performs well on the court I don't care if he starts or comes off the bench as long as he's logging more minutes than Hawes. Brockman's contributes in away that doesn't always reflect in the box scores the next morning. It's like he tires out the opponents by making them work their butts off, and by the 4th qtr they are drained. Because they know that they have to box out and fight for every rebound when Brockman is on the court. With Hawes, they can relax...it's almost like Hawes forfeits the offensive rebounds without giving any effort...it allows the opponents to grab the def rebound w/o having to put effort into it.

I'm not giving up on Hawes, but I don't think he should be given minutes w/o him earning them.

This is all true, and the truth is, as currently constructed this team is a better fit for what a player like Brockman can bring as opposed to Spencer Hawes. Brockman will set hard screens, stay out of Tyrekes way, and get the ball back to him if he misses but having that energy off the bench really has been a positive factor more than once this year.

The question of who starts can be debated forever. But I do believe Paul Westphal said that in his system, guys who produce will get minutes. I think that should tell the story.

Jon Brockman should go train with Hakeem. He'd be deadly if that ever happened. I do like him way more than Spencer Hawes. Spencer Hawes is a back up right now, we need a center who he can play behind so that he doesn't feel all the pressure. Donte Greene on the other hand has earned himself a warm seat on the end of the bench for all his bricks.

I'm pretty sure I saw this guy commit at least 8 fouls the other night in limited time. He might have trouble with that in a starter role. He really hustles though.

Funny, he certainly wan't called for 8 fouls...he was called for 3.
This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.

I didn't see the 8 fouls you're mentioning; and to be honest, I don't really think Brockman commits the dumb fouls like most foul-prone players. He just makes every foul count with full force.

Also, when your role is to come off the bench and play 15 minutes of low post enforcer, you have the liberty of fouling at a higher rate than a role that has you playing more minutes.

Yeah Joakim Noah S U C K S. Who would want a guy that can lead the league in rebounding.

Wow, some really uptight fans over here. I guess it wasn't obvious, I was joking!

About you know, that Brockman is a very physical player....? He seems like a endearing type player and fan favorite. I didn't *really* think he committed 8 fouls. Maybe I should have said 20.

Not that I didn't see him push down Kirk Hinrich and not get called and clear out Gibson a couple times. But our loss for sucking that game. I found it funny actually.

Jon is however, averaging 6 fouls per 36 minutes.

I'm talking about a guy commiting 8+ fouls a game or at least SHOULD be called that often.

I personally don't think he should START perse, but I agree that he DOES deserve more minutes. The type of energy Brockman brings is EXACTLY what we need coming from our bench, because afterall, what are benches for? What do analysts always say? "fill-in-the-blank-player brings that spark off the bench!" >>brings that spark off the bench<<
Ideal bench players bring energy, hustle, excitement, and reenergize the team. That's exactly why he needs to continue coming off the bench. But yeah, I'm all for increasing his minutes. 10 boards in 16 mins??? Are you serious??? He's like the Kevin Martin of rebounding!
