When was the last time the Kings made a trade and you thought to yourself, WOW we're clearly the winners here(AS THE TRADE OCCURRED) , because that is what Houston Fans have to be thinking right now. Just AWFUL!

Your dead wrong on this. If you have read any of the Houston board, the majority were pissed at this deal. Some have come around to it, but no one wanted to give up Landry. That says something to the caliber of a player landry is.

Think about it....If both sides (sac/hou) are pissed, who really won? Really, I think both teams did. They both accomplished what they wanted too. I've always supported KMart. Never been on his hatred bandwagon...but it clearly wasn't working here. Very few players never get traded in this league. Players get traded all the time. What Kmart brings to the table we really don't need. What Landry brings to the table we do need. Plus it gives us major financial flexibility. Thats a win in my book.
Sometimes you just have to look yourself in the mirror and say....Tyreke Evans.
That just happened.

No doubt, I just don't like the return for Martin overall. BTW, who's the chick in your avatar?

Personally, if all we WERE gonna get in that exchange was Larry Hughes' expiring contract, why not just keep Tmac and let his BIGGER expiring contract expire? I think we shoulda kept him.

Does it really matter? Getting rid of Martin should be considered addition by subtraction, right? That in itself is what everybody wanted anyway.

I do too, but his agent (who also represents Evans) was threatening us with whatever.

Dammit, I wanted to buy a Tmac Kings jersey SOOO BAD!!! (I wore my rockets jersey today) :(
If nothing else, Tmac would have DEFINATELY made this team a lot more exciting. Tmac & Evans? Big name superstar + future big name superstar? Perhaps Evans might have even been able to learn a thing or two from Mcgrady. Namely, how to shoot the basketball. Also, Mcgrady is an underrated playmaker. I hate it when teams just GIVE guys away just to help another team out. When was the last time you saw a superstar for superstar trade? Oh well...

This team is 4-5 years away from becoming relevant. McGrady is a bad fit. BTW if you want a McGrady Jersey you can get one. Just custom make one.

Depending what we do with our cap space and how CL fits then we could be back in the playoffs next year. We're getting another big man who can give us some much needed scoringt in a frontcourt, and we are getting a top 10 pick, plus we're going to have 20+ mill to play with around FA time and a team with a good coach and a few young stars that could be pretty attractive to whichever player(Bosh/JJ/Amare)'s team flames out in the 1st round of the playoffs. We could be relevant next year if we play our cards right.

Yeah, but it's not the same! ...
He doesn't necessarily HAVE to fit, perse, but I think it woulda been a nice shot in the arm for this team in the short term. Obviously he wouldn't stay longer than this year, but then again neither will Hughes. I dont see how Hughes fits in any better than McGrady does, which is the whole point. Why not just keep the bigger expiring? Just my opinion.

Because it makes no difference whatsoever? T-Mac wasn't going to play here, and Hughes likely isn't either. And neither was going to make a positive difference this year.

It was simply about helping the deal go through. Once the trade deadline has passed, the size of the expiring is completely irrelevant. Personally, I'd rather have Hughes/Kenny than T-Mac, because T-Mac would have just given the fans that don't really follow the league false hope.
