VOTE: Should Noc' Stay or Go?

Post#1 » by ecuhus1981 » Wed Apr 14, 2010 2:27 pm

Andres is still a quality player, maybe even worth '11 expirings and a lower-tier prospect from a contending team that needs a SF. But it's clear he does not fit with the current Kings core.

According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Real Madrid is going to make a play for Andres, and he would welcome it.

(translated by Hoopshype) Andres Nocioni: "I want to be on a contending team. If I have to return to Europe, so be it, and if I have to look for another NBA team, I will do it too. But I would have no problem returning to Europe at all. Actually, I would like to and I have very good memories of that time."

Likely, the Maloofs would be paid a small sum from Madrid for his rights (as many Euro teams do to NBA clubs for their players), and the immediate increased salary flexibility could come very much in handy this summer.

So...
Some people really have a way with words. Other people... not... have... way.

Sorry but this is a dumb question. Who in their right mind would actually want him to stay. Of course everyone wants him gone.

Wait, so, wait, but his salary wouldn't be cleared off our books, would it?

I mean that's what it seems like you're saying, but that would just be way too awesome.

I'm surprised he got a vote to stay. I like him, but he isn't somebody the Kings need. The only people that I think should stay are Evans, Thompson, Landry, and maybe Hawes. If a trade comes up we take it and that's what I see happening.

Can anyone actually confirm this? I mean, seriously, why in their right mind would the Maloofs say no?! It's like, LESS MONEY, which they always love... it's like saying no to a GET OUT OF JAIL FREE card when you're IN JAIL.

if we kept udoka, may, brockman, mcguire.... and added our first round pick.

then we wouldnt be limited to signing a max contract. (after some quick head math)

so...we NEED to get rid of noc. i really dont think its worth keeping him....

I really don't see how this can happen, but yes, he has to go. He is dangerously teetering on the edge of "Kenny Thomas land" and as soon as he falls over we're stuck with him.

The Maloofs dnt wanna be seen doing business like that imo. This is why they haven't explored this route. Noc will be here until his contract dwindles down to a year left. Unless some team does us a huge favor

Radio, he's just an arogant ignorant tool. On television, he's one the worst announcer I've ever seen.

Don't wanna be seen doing business like what?
It's a win win situation, getting rid of a player you only brought to cut losses, and increasing your cap room is a good buisness. if Real pays Noc 1.5-2 million Euro, it'll be very close to his current salary, and he plays in a country that speaks his language, and easier for him to live in (his family can cope better).
This would be a godsend, let's hope it's true.

But I like Nocioni... he's better to have out there than Casspi, Greene or McGuire.

I'm tired of Donte Greene's bricks and 0 rebounds and Casspi's turnovers and no defense.

I'm tired of Noc's hideous drives to the basket and whiney attitude.

They all have their faults, but at least the other guys are young and not taking up a disproportionate amount of cap space.
