Grievis Vasquez

Post#1 » by danu786 » Sun Jun 20, 2010 7:24 am

I think if, and that's a pretty big if, he is available when we make the pick at 33, we should draft him. Watching him this past season, it is clear that he plays with heart and passion, which makes him a perfect fit in Sacramento. He plays mainly point guard, but like Tyreke he is 6'6", so he can play either guard position, which is exactly what we need. He also has a LOT of talent and could be a steal at 33. Your thoughts?

Never heard of him before this second. I guess I wouldn't mind, assuming he really is a combo guard.

OK, now I recognize him. I remember thinking that he would make a nice combo guard in the NBA.

I like him. He is definitely one tough customer. His attitude reminds me of Cisco a little bit.

^^I think he is essentially cisco. I would much rather use our #33 on Dominique Jones who seems to be a perfect fit with either Reke or Udrih or even Garcia.

Dominique Jones is an underrated prospect, but he's not a good fit with Tyreke at all. He's basically going to be a poor man's Tyreke IMO.

Vasquez is basically a a carbon copy of Cisco but Vas 3pt shooting it a little weak. Solid player who ultimately play 4 positions in the nba.

Dude was ACC player of the year last year and nation's best point guard. I liked Vasquez but think he's going to struggle in the NBA cause he stinks defensively. Great size and will be able to play one or two but isn't fast and again doesn't defend. I'd pass.

honestly I think a poor man's version of Reke is the perfect fit with Reke. But the difference is Jones is a decent 3pt shooter already not amazing but decent.

the best fit with reke would be a player that is roughly 6'4 to take advantages of match ups at PG/SG. Would be a true combo guard that can play on or off ball equally well, solid 3 pt shooter, good defender, able to defer to a better player or to be the focal point of the reserve offense. I feel like that's Jones.

He is Cisco like and will be solid in the NBA. But this team doesn't need up and down shooting guys they need a KMart guy who can score every game.

And by the way How are the Maloofs feeling about Kobe putting up a KMart choking big game performance and still his team found away to win a title... Will the Lakers trade Kobe? No.
