I am fine with the reasons fans love Cousins upside (personally I am thrilled we didnt draft him at #3...(I want no part of the downside of his growing backside). But, truly I respect anyone not wanting to make a deal...or falling in love with their draft pick and wanting to see if he could in fact live up to that dreaded word...potential.

But...I absolutely believe you have analyzed what Devin would do on your team poorly. I dont say this to try and sway you to like the trade for those of you that are just excited about your pick, I say it to the comments not repecting what Devin's role would be. I absolutely think he would fit in very well. Get back to being an elite defender. Be a secondary offensive option..and help keep double teams off the primary scorer. As that I got to see him do exactly that on his way to an all star team with Vince Carter 2 years ago...I will flat out say, using some sort of Hollinger-esque rationalle for fit was just not showing knowledge of watching the player.

No the irony is that you make it seem like it's Harris or hell! I didn't say it wouldn't work. I said DH wasn't the best fit for the Kings. Factor in the price you were asking and it's a hell no! I'm sorry you didn't like the answer, but the truth is DMC @ 5 was the best option for the Kings. I analyzed that DMC was the player we needed to bring in and not Devin Harris.

Is that clear?

Carter isn't nearly has ball dominant as Evans since Evans is much more of a PG than he is.

Now...that's true. But if you watched enough of VC ovcer the years...even up to a couple of years ago....he is a PG with a scorers mentality. In fact...he started out as a PG. Fantastic passer during the years we had him. Absolutley shared running the offense with Devin. they fit really well together.

Just saying...Very good player...and I do think it would be a nice fit. And again...none of that has anything to do with saying that you shoid want to deal. Good luck with your pick. Always hard to give up upside.

As for the guy who said Cousins over Brook???? Its nice to be dilussional. We got Favors at 3....far and away most feel he was the better pick....and I have no problem saying...Brook destroys Favors at this point.

Now perhaps Cousins proves everyone wrong. But that was just homerism. Cousins over Brook? Come on now...someone here has to know better than that to at least say...yeah...that was over the line.

Outside of that, I don't think the Nets have the value to acquire the #5 pick and at that price I see where you as a Nets fan wouldn't care for that type of deal. I'm just saying that's the piece that would motivate the Kings to move the pick.

You would consider it? Brook Lopez the best rook contract up and coming big man in the league? Dont worry...you are right we wouldnt care for that deal, unless of course you were giving us Tyreke Evans plus in a deal. Clearly that must seem just about as silly to you, which is why I mention it. Straight up prospect wise...Brook is more valuable than Evans. Yes I said it.

Love Brook Lopez a lot. Not dogging on him at all. But I am much more excited about DMC. You posed your question before DMC was available at #5. Now that we got him. I wouldn't trade DMC for Lopez straight up, and I think Lopez is phenomenal. THe point of my earlier post was that Lopez was the only motivating piece the Nets had for 5. Any combination of assets less than that just falls short. Now that we have DMC, I'm serious that I don't think Lopez will have the level of value that DMC will going forward. I know you'll disagree and it's pure conjecture at this point, but we'll go ahead and re-evaluate this in a year from now and get a better idea if I was right, wrong, close or still a couple years away to get a fair sample size for both players.

That's how we view it. I'd take Harris back, but not at the price of the #5 pick. It'd be far less at this point. If the Kings add a Morrow and Blake in Free Agency, I really like our team moving forward.
