I'm now convinced after watching every Summer League game that Greene is better than Casspi. With that being said I say we trade Casspi for Courtney Lee. I think it makes sense for both teams. NJ just signed Morrow. We could then sign SacTown's finest Matt Barnes that continues with the toughness theme. Our lineup would look like this:

Tyreke Evans/Beno Udrih
Courtney Lee/Francisco Garcia/Quincy Douby (he's better than any of our Summer League guards)
Donte Greene/Matt Barnes
Carl Landry/Jason Thompson/Jon Brockman (or Wayne Chism if Brock holding out for too much $)
Samuel Dalembert/DeMarcus Cousins/Hassan Whiteside

It doesn't make sense for Sacramento since Courntey Lee is not half the player Omri is.

I don't get this. We don't have to trade either. We ditched Nocioni, and only Garcia is really another SF threat. There is plenty of time for one of them to start and the other to get 20-25 minutes as a backup SG/SF. We don't need to trade either.

Giving up on Omri at this point is as silly as if we'd given up on Greene last year.

Douby SUCKS booty.... he won't ever do anything in the NBA so he is a waste.... We truly don't need Brockman or Chism.... we have enough bigs on our team... IF Brockman is cheap, I would re-sign him because he did fit in perfectly with this team.

Donte at the 2 was a failed experiment last year. He can guard some 2s, but he's clearly a 3.

Donte is going to have improve his ballhandling if he'll play with any frequency.

Right now, I think it basically boils down to offense vs. defense. Casspi is generally the better offensive player. I think that much is clear. His outside shot is more consistent, and he is just better at attacking the basket. He's more relentless and he is so weirdly skilled and capable around the rim. Donte could potentially get to be as good as Omri offensively. He'll need to improve his outside shot (more consistent), and start to use his athletic gifts a lot more around the basket and when driving, but he can get there.

Donte is certainly the better defender though in just about every way.

Right now, with the potential size we'll have inside defensively, I think the bigger priority is having somebody next to Tyreke who is a more consistent threat from 3. That is Omri right now.

I don't think you can call either of them good offensive players. They have their moments yes, and yes Casspi's shot is more consistent but it's not a night and day comparison nor is it clear. Donte makes mistakes offensively whereas Casspi will just disappear.

I thought Greene played some of his best ball when he was the two last season. Lamar Odom was a point guard at 6'11" so it's not like it can't be done. I just don't think anyone has ever asked him to be a ball handler.
