Patrick Mills - The Australian Answer

Post#1 » by Brendonlv15 » Mon Jul 19, 2010 3:08 pm

The Blazers tendered a qualifying offer to Mills in June, but it's not guaranteed and he technically is a restricted free agent. They have until Friday to withdraw the contract offer. If they do not, the sides have until Oct. 1 to mutually agree to terminate the deal. Later this week, Mills will return to his native Australia to compete on the Australian National Team -- and he hopes to return to Portland in the fall with a spot on the Blazers' roster. Hey guys, Australian kings fan here....

Was just looking around at todays NBA news and came across this. Being Australian we have pretty much only 2 hopes playing NBA basketball in Andrew Bogut and Patty Mills. He is a 6'0 point guard with genuine 3 point range, exactly the type of player we want next to Tyreke. He can run an offense, passing is solid and handles the ball pretty well... He is stuck behind a glut of players in Portland and just needs an oppotunity as a backup point-guard to show what he can do.

Anyone close to the Kings get into their ear about Patty!!! Please!!! The fanbase he would bring would easily even pay for his contract!!

I doubt he would be available to the Kings. After watching the Blazer's broadcast of yesterday's Por-Chi game, it appeared to me that the Blazers are really interested in keeping him on the roster.
This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.

He seems like he could be a good pick up - And the kings do look for players who can bring an international fan base with them. Could knock out 2 stones with one bird potentially - Marketing and the need for a solid 3 point shooter.

Anyways - good to see a kings fan from aussie, specially when 2 of your main players play for different teams...

I would be EXCEPTIONALLY happy as an SMC fan if Patty became a King.

I like Patty Mills too but the Blazers guard that I really want is Jarred Bayless

I thought we should have drafted him to be honest and was a little disappointed that we didn't.
No bias being an aussie though lol.
Seriously this kid when he gets his chance will do some damage, he is just too talented.

I'm not a Kings fan but I'd love him to go to Sacramento. Young team that's short of guards. Would be great for him.
