Hey I just finished reading the wiretap - apparently the 6ers are open to trading Kapono - and the kings obviously need a 3point shooter, so they say we might have interest in Kapono - what do you guys think about this possibility?

Re: Jason Kapono
It says we "could" have interest, indicated speculation.
And pass. I want good basketball players. Kapono is not that. If we're not going to get another PG (which I think is what we should be looking for), I surely don't see the point of getting another wing. Kapono wouldn't get minutes over Omri, Donte and Cisco.

Re: Jason Kapono
They may just trade him straight up for cap space.

Re: Jason Kapono
I like this trade for the right price especially if we envision Tyreke playing a lot of point guard this year. Its true he most likely wont get minutes over Omri, Donte, or Cisco but if one of those guys goes down to injury he could find his way into the rotation. Also, he is probably a better 3 point shooter than all of those guys. Makes sense if its for the right price (future 2nd or cap space)

Mark Stein mentioned Clippers and Kings as options. Kapono went to high school in So Cal and played at UCLA. He'd choose Clippers and really that's good. Yes he's a good shooter but he doesn't fit our mold of moving towards defense and toughness. No thanks to Kapono.

Re: Jason Kapono
I don't think there is a more one dimensional player in the L than Kapono. Sure, the Kings need shooters, but I don't they're desperate enough to reach for a guy like Kapono.

You go to St. Mary's right? I remember someone on here I was talking to about St. Mary's because I go to a lot of the games, but anyways it's not a big lost to me whether we sign him or we don't. I'll be fine either way.

Re: Jason Kapono
The Kings need shooters from the guard position, and preferably small guards, Casspi, Greene and cisco are all better than Kapono at the 3.
