Well, I guess people were begging for a shooter...why not get the guy who shoots so many 3s because the NBA hasn't created a 4 point line yet.

It's not Antoine Walker. It's Antoine Wright Image

ooops....I guess I misread!

Hey, I'm blond and I'm old...I'm allowed to make that mistake.

It's another non factor signing to fill a roster space with someone that may have just needed a change of scenery.

It makes sense actually.

*The Maloofs are broke
*They will have to pay Reke and Cousins and all these other young guys soon
*When All these rookies start producing we're going to look real attractive from a basketball standpoint.

I say realistically we should be looking to the summer of 2012 to be a player in FA.

I bet we start building this deadline and for sure next summer. Where this team should be heading will be really clear come this deadline and there are more than a few nice veterans available next summer that could make excellent 3rd/4th options around Evans and Cousins. Should that pan out of course.

I still see one or two of Dalembert, Thompson, or Landry being moved this deadline in a MAJOR move.

^^im not so sure anymore. It feels like we are in wait and see mode because don't know exactly how things are going to pan out, so we don't want to overly committ to anyone right now. If things go very well before the deadline you could be right, but if our team doesn't mesh well or cousins is further from contributing than he looks we may hold off a year to do anything.

Yeah, but wait and see mode is a temporary mindset. There's no reason for Petrie to go out and unload MLE sized contracts on ANYONE still available. See how this team looks mid-way through the season and then make your move. As you said, depends on how the team looks but either way, I can guarantee some movement. Too many variables right now, Landry is an impending FA and the future of both Donte and JT have to be decided sooner than later. Not super pressing but with Petries history it'll be decided sooner than later most likely. My prediction is major move at the deadline, but for sure he'll go after somebody next summer. Hmmm...interesting how there are some "veteran SF's" available next summer too. You know, Battier or Prince would be awesome pickups.
