I'd quit on a coach who has no set plays, no set roles, or no set rotation, too.

I am thankful this game is over.

Fire Westphal. I've watched like 6 Sacramento games recently, and he's a complete trainwreck. He just got worked by Vinny Del Negro. The dream is over.

Right now, they are struggling with their 'easiest' stretch of games, imagine once the Kings get blown out every game against +.500 teams on a consistent basis! The Kings are in total disarray with everything.

The Clippers are the worst in the NBA: 2-13 record going in to this game. And they managed to lose by 18! The highest margin of defeat for the Kings this season.

I don't know what to do with this team. I mean, they could fire Westphal right now. It might be good but this will be the millionth coaching change for the Kings in the last 5 years. The players NEED stability with the personnel. I think that gets underrated by many here. The potential coaching change might produce shifting philosophy and regurgitating inconsistencies within the team. It may cause more harm than good.

Evans really needs to rest for a couple of games. He is seriously lacking explosion and the ability to convert his shots around the rim. I say give him a week or more of rest. NO heavy basketball activities for him during that span.

Yeah but that doesn't really effect anyone on this team, or at least anyone that matters. This will only be the first "firing" involved with this new core of players. Might be a really positive thing that we have a guy sitting there waiting to take over that's been a head coaching candidate for this very team in the past.

The funny thing is, if Westfail does go, how many coaches is that for Garcia in his career? He's the Alex Smith of the NBA!

Ah, good point.

But I kind of find it funny in a way. I wouldn't have imagine this if you told me that Westphal would suck because last year most fans were GRATEFUL that we landed Westphal. It seemed like that the Kings found a coach that may stick with us for the next couple of years. Because of that, I want to give Westphal another chance to prove himself he can recover from this. I probably give him 10 games or so tbh.

Yeah, just thought about that.

That's pretty intense for any player in general. Shifting roles and adapting to different philosophies. Must be hell for Garcia

Sometimes I try to convince myself that Westphal might just be a victim of over inflated expectation, but he just isn't. Even the players are starting to basically say, "Hey coach! COACH US!"

My real problem has more to do with the fact that he seemingly has NO CLUE how to utilize both Cousins and Evans. It worked last year because we basically were that "run and gun" team he's been wanting to have the whole time. We also gave up an ungodly amount of points per game but that's besides the point. You just picked up a player that is supposed to be a major piece, if not THE major piece moving forward, and he's involved in the offense less than Luther "freaking" Head (not to diss Luther, dudes been a rock defensively, just an example here).

Nah, not good enough. That alone is worth getting him canned. I'd rather win 18 games and say, "Well at least Tyreke and Demarcus really developed some chemistry and both started settling in as our go to guys." then, "Well, Carl, Sam, and Luther got us that elusive 19th win and Demarcus started to hit more jumpers off the bench while Tyreke accepted his role as Capt. chucker." The players not named Tyreke Evans and Demarcus Cousins are interchangeable IMO. Some more important than others, but until they show promise enough or they find their own buildings to display their faces on my opinion won't change.

I don't care who the coach is, hell, they could hire that same broomstick we should have replaced Brad Miller with on defense, just as long as they know the object is as follows:

1. Make Tyreke happy
2. Make Demarcus happy

Those are our stars! And for good reason too. Do both of those things, make them look better, and everything else will follow. This season becomes more and more lost as this team tries to find ways to play around them instead of THROUGH them.

You know that your season has hit an all time high when you get blown out by a team coached by VDN.

What good coach would ever want to coach here?

They'd be in Sacramento
They'd be coaching a bunch of young, inconsistent players
They'd have little to no shot at the playoffs for a year or two at best
The moment something goes wrong, they'll get fired, as evident from our past 1 million coaches

The coaching had/has almost nothing to do with the product the kings have put of the floor over the last several seasons..I'm amazed the Maloofs still get away with using the coach as the scapegoat. Westpahal will be out of here within 3 months. It's crazy. The roster is so messed up it's ridiculous.

If anythnig, a new coach and a fresh new start for players will wake all those good for nothing players up, and make them compete and fight like they did last year to get thier place in the rotation set in stone.

Geoff Petrie needs to pull a PAt Riley and come coach. I think he would be a great coach.
