Whoever said defense was overrated clearly has no clue, but I can't say I expected more from a Martin homer. They're always downplaying the shortcomings of his game. It could be anything he sucks at, and they'll say that it's unimportant to the game.

It is glad to see the Maloofs have pulled their head out on JT and let him play with Cousins.
But trading KMart was a mistake. If Yao doesn't get again Hou is in the playoff hunt right now. Saying KMart sucks because Yao is injured is like saying Peja or Bibby sucked with CWebb injured. Of course, CWebb was their star and Peja and Bibby were great role players.
Petrie teams are built on being great offenisive teams with great team defense and never great individual defensive players (just like Phil Jackson's teams). Last year Hawes/JT/Greene frontline had more blocks than the Daly/Landry/Casspi this year.
You don't know that they would have lost this year had a healthy KMart to space the floor for Tyreke and JT with a 2nd entire offseason together. Not to mention with KMart would have let Cousins start too. You just really do not know that they would have sucked either way.
You have to admit your mistakes and fix them. Trading for or signing a 3 point shooter (like Aaron Brooks) would take pressure off the the young guys when traded KMart/Noci/Hawes who all helped spread the floor.
It doesn't doesn't matter what system your team runs in the NBA, it just takes a few years to learn it. It was that way with the Princeton for Adelman or Scott Brooks at OKC or Phil Jackson triangle.
The Kings will be fine in Westphal's system, the KMart trade set them back another year, but they will get there. If the Kings continue to work the Greene/JT/Cousins frontline and make the Landry trade for Brooks-ish trade, and get a stud the draft and lookout next year. It will be Tyreke's 3rd year like Durant's when he made the playoffs.
It is always darkest before the dawn. I'm at least excited about this team's future now.

They won tonight againI think that 4 str8? I mean I think that era is done but lol hey they're winning games we're not lol ANY one would be a great help right now
They're not winning because of Kevin Martin, they're winning because they are a better team with a better coach.
That may be, but Kevin Martin is still leading their charge.

Well I do suppose once angry Kings fans run out of energy fighting about the coach, it's only usual to go back to last year's stomping grounds and argue more about Martin.

How is Westfail still a coach for this team? Even Muss and Theus did better than that. Would we have given them this kind of pass with this type of talent?
Muss and Theus had players with far more talent, experience and IQ.
This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.

I'm waiting for the regression to the Weber/Peja fights of more than 5 years ago.

Re: Kings/Lakers
Here's what I dont get. . . We have one of the worst jump shooting teams in the entire league. Arguably the worst especially when Casspi doesn't play. So how can we expect to beat any1 when all we are taking is jump shots and are getting out scored in the paint so badly. I liked Jim Gray asking the questions like that at halftime because PW is looking more and more like an idiot. He couldn't even come up with an intelligent response. I had to turn the game off during the 3rd quarter being that I live with Laker fans I couldn't stand the humilation anymore

Re: Kings/Lakers
Not perfect but if we're going to shoot jumpers we need jump shooting. I say go with a lineup of Evans, Garcia, Casspi, Greene, and Cousins, with Beno, Thompson, and Head off the bench. Just tell everyone to stand the hell out of Evans way when he drives and when Cousins has the ball wait for the pass back out to the perimeter.
