I agree with your notion of letting Cousins play through his mistakes. The game was already decided in the 2nd/3rd quarter. Why not let Cousins play through valuable minutes? Instead, we saw Cousins on the bench while guys on the floor committing mistakes left and right.
I made a point of watching Westphals post game this time. I wish that reporter had the balls to just come out and say, "So, why the quick chain on Cousins?", or, "so...why the (Please Use More Appropriate Word) substitution patterns?".
I'm sorry, this is just indicative of the entire season. He'll ride the testes of these middling vets until the damn death, if we're headed somewhere right on, but c'mon, what happened to the coach we saw last season? Give them the ball, and get out of the way! There was some excitement coming into the year with the possibility of having another ROY but if Cousins can't even get starters minutes in a game like this, where he's not in foul trouble, where he's rolling like a stud for the most part, and we're getting our bungholes blasted wide open, what chance does he have? I don't mind losing but I hate the feeling of being stuck in suck with a big ball of unnecessary negativity hanging over the team. I really thought that would be over with once the rebuild started but now the coach is getting in the way of that! ARGH. I'm done, he has to go and whoever takes his place at the very least just needs to let the young guys improve on their own. I don't see Blake Griffin going to the bench after every mistake he makes.
