Ty Lawson

Post#1 » by braveheart916 » Wed Dec 15, 2010 3:55 am

Since it looks like Melo is going to be moving on, i think the kings should target Ty Lawson IMO he would be a perfect fit next to Tyreke and DMC and a major upgrade to our guard Positions. I'd be willing to give up anyone except Tyreke and DMC. Any thoughts?

PS
Lets find a coach that knows how to develop talent. Because this ****bag cant do it!

Why the hell would the Nuggets give up on Lawson?

Yea. With Melo gone and Billups likely to follow, I'd think they would want to build on Lawson.

Denver is in talks about moving Chauncey Billups and his huge contract to a contender when Melo leaves.

Lawson is not going anywhere. The Nuggets are going to rebuild.

if we offer a good deal i dont see them rejecting. I wouldnt mind giving up our first round pick for him. Lawson is proven in this league and at this time we need to do something to shake things up.

Maybe they have a janitor or something looking to get into coaching? Maybe even just an extra broom??? They can keep Lawson if they have a semi-warm body, or inanimate object that we can stick out on the sidelines.

Not a chance. Ain't trading what could be a top 4 pick for Lawson.

Like.....???

Sorry fat chance here. Billups yes could be made available, especially since we're under the cap. But Lawson, yeah right. No one worth giving up(i.e Evans/DMC) that they'd require to part with him.

I think you got this mixed up.... If Melo is traded then Billups would be available (since they'd have to start rebuilding or at least acquiring young talent).

that might be you. curry understandable, but Lawson really? I would give up our first round pick for this year coming up. We need to build this team from what we have and not keep experimenting with rookies. At this point the kings gotta make bold decision and adding lawson wouldnt be that bad.
Many of you guys would say that nuggets wont want to part ways with lawson, i think otherwise. Lawson is not a scorer he is point guard. this upcoming draft many top prospects are scorer (i.e walker). There is no point for us to get Walker because him and tyreke wont mesh.

You know, if you were talking going after Lawson when his FA year comes up and he hasn't been extended at that point I would understand.

But you display a severe lack of understanding of the business side of the NBA when you talk about 1) getting a cheap newly proven young PG from a team that is going to lose their superstar and wants to cheap down and rebuild with talented youth; and 2) giving up a top 4 (most likely) draft pick in a high talent draft for a guy who is not an established all-star that will make a huge win upgrade to your team is a fools move.

If you are going to come up with guys to go after and a good combo with our existing future star core, make it realistic.

I'm not looking at Walker so much as I'm looking at Irving. Kyrie is being coached by arguably the best coach in college basketball right now. Plus, he's a true point guard (unlike Walker). I don't think I'd be willing to give up that pick and potentially more for Lawson. Although Lawson would be a steal.
