I think everyone is over reacting. Putting him on the bench isn't going to make DMC more "aware." Calling him out isn't going to make him respond. It's not about conformance it's about how do I treat a person to get the most out of them?

I don't think Paul Westphal gets that. The league isn't about "I'm the coach do as I say." The NBA screwed that up when it started marketing stars. The NBA screwed that up when GM's and owners started catering to their stars instead of their coaches. Most important though the NBA screwed that up when it enabled kids to sign 8 figure contracts before their 20th birthday. Cousins will get another shot in the NBA if this doesn't work out. Will Paul Westphal?

The better coaches in the league get this principle. You don't clash with Phil Jackson because Phil seems to understand people better. You can say that about all good coaches. The good coaches seem to give a player a role and a responsibility they are ready to handle and can see positive results from. I don't see where Westphal has done that with any player except maybe Tyreke Evans and Beno Udrih.

Interesting read on ESPN. Pretty much sums up all things obvious. Westphal has lost his team and the players are questioning his philosophy and rotations. It just has to change. I don't agree with the way Westphal has handled this most recent Cousins issue but his heart is indeed in the right place. Just hard to take it seriously from the bowl in the china shop I would imagine.

WOW ! Just blame DC for everything when their were multiple things that went wrong 1 other main thing was GARCIA'S Vetreran ( mind you ) dumb@ass shotting the 3 point shot with like 12 seconds remaining when it was clearly unwaranted & again we are talking about a VET who has been in the NBA as long if not longer than anyone on the KINGS roster There were alot of reasons the KINGS blew the game not just DC ...

Who said I was blaming him for EVERYTHING? I'm blaming him for what he did and for what he didn't do AND for making us even MORE of a laughing stock of the league than were already were. He didn't exactly have he most efficient game in the world, yet he's gonna tell somebody else about choking. And then WE lose the game.

If I'm the coach, he's going to hear about it. And he's going to watch it. And he's going to watch it again. And he's going to watch it again. And he's going to watch it again until some kind of sense finally penetrates his apparently thick skull. There's a REASON why you don't do stuff like that, and we just found out THE HARD WAY why not. Imagine what the rest of the league is gonna think about us when they see one of our guys throwing up a choke sign... and then WE go on to choke away a game that was seemingly unchokable. We'll never be taken seriously again.

The kid loves to compete, he adds flavor to the game, he's fun to watch... every player tries to get into eachothers head.

Thats all good & all but you seem to make Cousins seem as if he is all to blame ! I dont see you taking about Garcia's IDIOTIC 3 point attempt etc. Cousins is not to blame for nearly as much as you seem to be stating in your response !

That, my friend, would be because this topic is entitled "Cousins won't start" not "Garcia won't start". This thread is focusing on Cousins, so I am sounding off on Cousins.
Obviously Garcia will get a tongue lashing as well as whoever the hell is was that fouled 3 point shooters twice (I know Landry was one of them, but I missed the other one because I briefly turned my head from the screen).

Seriously though. With the type of attitude and body language this team currently was, I'm really starting to whether this team will ever win another game this season. And I am not exaggerating. Pick any random team on the remainder of the season schedule and tell me WITH CONFIDENCE AND A STRAIGHT FACE that we'll win that game. I don't know what transpired immediately following the season home opener, but ever since then this team his made the Kings teams of the 90s look like playoff teams. It's really pathetic. How can professional athletes play this crappy? Have you no pride? No self respect?
