Question from Raps fan
Hey Kings fans,
I was just curious about something. As a Raps fan, the only thing left to do is cheer for us to lose and get as high a pick in the draft as possible. Therefore I'm cheering for us to lose, and for you, the Wolves, Nets and Wizards to all win.
Just wondering if you guys have a similar mentality, or if your actually cheering for the Kings to win. Thanks!

Win. Kings are in a different position than the Raps. The Kings hopefully are just about done with sucking and drafted two studs in Cousins and Evans through the recent "hope they lose" seasons. Build the right team around them and the Kings are back on the rise.

No, not really...for me at least. Last few years we were definetly in that frame of mind.
But with tons of youth right now, I think most of us are looking for development from the young players, and for a big trade or signing next year to help push us over the top.

Sometimes you just have to look yourself in the mirror and say....Tyreke Evans.
That just happened.
That just happened.

I've seen enough losing. Its time for the team to come together and start learning how to win games as a unit. That's the only way their gonna get better at this point. You can get all the high lottery picks you want, but if all you're ever gonna do is continue to lose to get MORE picks, you're wasting your talent. You HAVE to install a winning atmosphere at some point.

I feel ya, lately thats exactly how i've been feeling.
Next season even if we suck I ain't gonna feel that way though.... just the thought of having a better % at Kyrie makes me want to suffer and loose a bit more just to get him.
I'm absolutely hoping we'll loose and end up dead-last in the league... but not angry when we win.

no, when you have a GM like Petrie you aren't as worried about where you end up in the draft cause you know he will draft a stud. the truth is we got the 2nd best player in last 2 drafts even though we had the 4th and 5th best pick. Griffin-Evans and Wall-Cousins.
Its not so much Petrie being so smart either, its the fact that the other GM's are so dumb and pass up talent. Take Memphis for example, trading Kevin Love for OJ Mayo and drafting Thabeet over Tyreke. Or Philly taking Turner over Cousins. Could you imagine Philly with Cousins and Brand in the post.

On a game by game basis I always hope for wins. It hurts too much to watch the team lose. Even when the team is awful I still feel just as bad when they lose. When I'm not watching games then I'm a little bit more excited about losses but I always want my teams to win games.

Honestly, at this point, it's not even really about winning and losing.
As far as a performance thing, the win/loss record is secondary to watching the guys in the core progress. Seeing Cousins, Evans and others fill out their games and improve for future seasons.
The other thing that factors into this is the whole potential for the team being on the move. I'm not sure how the win/loss aspect fits into that, but the potential of the move makes it the Kings situation different than any other team's right now.

If people cannot learn from the last two seasons that it really does NOT matter where you finish in order, the Lottery is going to be what it is going to be, then they are pretty much as foolish as people sound on these boards a good portion of the time.

If we drafted Udoh and Flynn you might be singing a different tune.

Not really true to the extent of studliness that you need to be a factor. Drafting down around 10th or 11th will get you the Spencer Hawes' and Jason Thompsons' of the world, but if you want a real shot at talent you typically need to be in that top 6 somewhere. Very few real and true stars fall past that point and if they do they're still such a hidden gem that it's hard to decipher what's what.

Win. And then leapfrog everyone else to Kyrie Irving like what happened to us the past two seasons(although we did alright minus the Blake Griffin catastrophe).
