Consensus on Cousins and Evans?
Hey guys, just wanting to know what the general consensus is on Cousins and Evans regarding their futures. I've heard everything from a potential Shaq and Kobe duo to a Eddy Curry/Larry Hughes combo. I haven't been able to see much Kings games, maybe three within the last 2 years. What do you guys see in these guys every night? Are they the duo you build your team around?

I don't see Shaq and Kobe at all. Maybe Barkely and KG though!
These two need time to mature as people before we see anything great from them. Once they do that then we will see better basketball from the both of them.

Yeah, they really just need time and Tyreke needs to get healthy. Hopefully he is now.

Re: Consensus on Cousins and Evans?
Regarding their potential as a duo, it's too hard to say right now. Evans has missed 20 games straight now, and it's been in the last 20 that Cousins has really grown as a player and established what kind of production he is capable of. Before the last couple of months, Cousins was plagued by foul trouble and didn't get nearly as many minutes as he gets now. Moreover, in the games that Evans and Cousins did play together, Evans didn't pass to Cousins very much.
Also, the offense wasn't run through Cousins when Evans was playing, and now it is. We really don't know how that will change or work with Evans on the floor. Personally, I think they should just take turns "dominating" the ball, because duos like Shaq/Kobe have obviously worked in the past. If there are any issues, they better figure out how to make it work, and I expect they will because Cousins is such a great and willing passer.
With all that said, I think sky is the limit for them. Individually, I see no reason why a healthy Tyreke can't do what D-Rose did this year. I also see Cousins as having the potential to be the most skilled big man in the entire league in 2-3 years. If he's not 18/10/4 by next year, and 22/11/5 by year three, I'd be surprised.

Some may call it a due... but I call it the next "big three." (Marcus Thornton is a stud)

With Evans injury & Cousins still figuring things out it's too early to say. I think they would both benefit from a true pg running the team. Cousins has way to many turnovers a game & Evans has taken a big step back from last season.

I would say a Wade/Duncan combo is more accurate than Kobe/Shaq. I think they will be top duo in the league in the next 2-3 years

Only if Evans can be a more consistent playmaker at the 1 spot. Neither him nor Thornton are big enough for the 3. Hopefully we'll get Irving in the draft and make it a true "Big Three". Or Derrick WIlliams. Guys a thug and a half. Not to mention clutch.

Re: Consensus on Cousins and Evans?
i was going to come on here and ask what's the deal with Cousins. i've only watched a couple of Sac games this year, but i've been watching the boxscore every game because he was a steal for my fantasy team. i just want to know if his bad games are usually only because of foul trouble and if his shooting is as bad as it seems in the boxscore. fantasy playoff time and he got me there so i don't want to bench him just for FG%...
also, what can we expect from Evans when he comes back?

This is going to be one of the best your duos in the league. In a couple of years teams will be forced to pick their poison.
Tyreke, when healthy is unguardable one on one and will becomes even more difficult to guard once he gets good jumpshot.
Cousins is already dominating games inside and against top teams.
The only question I have is can Evans and Thornton work together because if they can, sky is the limit.
You roll out twin towers in Cousins and Dalembert backed up by JT and a backcourt of Evans - Thornton backed up by Beno and thats already a very good 6 man rotation.
Add a defensive specialist at 3 that can swing over to 4 (Kirilenko) and match up on the likes of Landry and Odom, and an early lottery pick and this team is ready to blossom.
We have started putting it together lately which makes for a promising season next year.

I was thinking about AK-47, I wouldn't mind it, but I think the Kings need a more consistent shooter at the 3. I'm starting to think Battier or Prince would be perfect for a summer pick up even more than I did, if not, I'm cool with Cisco!!!
