Seattle Fans Support Sacramento @ Denver-OKC Game 3

Didn't see this posted on your board, feel free to lock it up if it doesn't deserve a thread. Thought it was interesting because I could hear the cowbells during the whole game and had no idea what it meant.

In Sacramento, the ringing of cowbells has become synonymous with Kings fans. At Arco Arena, cowbells ring-out as the Kings take the floor, with fans showing their support using the distinct sounds the instrument makes. As the Maloof brothers attempt to move the team, fans continue to let their cowbells ring while making their voices heard, all in an effort to keep their team where it belongs. It’s something we know all too well here in Seattle.

On Saturday, as Sonicsgate travels to Denver, Seattle will stand with Sacramento fans, who are putting together a last-ditch effort to keep the Kings from relocating to Anaheim. Clay Bennett, head of the NBA relocation committee, will be there, making Game 3 the perfect time to show support for the Kings cause. And what better way to do it than symbolically, with cowbells ringing at Pepsi Center?

The Sonics fans were pretty visible and I think it was great on their part. Sacramento is a great market and hopefully the team stays in your city long-term.

Wow, this is very impressive - I wonder how many people actually showed up and did this - I have a lot more respect for them now. I think it is awful seatle lost their team - I don't think anyone deserves that.. and I have a new appreciation for what they went through ... having gone through it myself this season with the kings.. Also something Chris Webber said about it - when he was saying that Gary Payton lost his "home" in seatle and wont have an arena to have his jersey hang and his career celebrated... that is very sad... I hope someday somehow... that seatle gets a new team.. and the glove can call it home.

Despite their team being already gone, Sonics fans have been with us since day one. Using cowbells, which are synonymous with our fans was a great way to show their support. Super classy of them. Seattle has my support as well.

I noticed this during the game. It was a surprising and thoughtful gesture. Seattle should have a team.

Cosigned, Seattle has my support and they are really great fans. It's a shame what happened to them but I appreciate their efforts to help us save our team.

As a Pistons fan who has had some rumors swirling around about a potential move with the sale of my team, I feel for you guys. It just sucks to me that teams with HISTORY have to go, successful franchises with die-hard 2nd and 3rd generation fans shouldn't lose their team like this, the NBA should be helping these teams stay.

I was furious when Seattle moved and I'm even more furious that another LA area team could be added at the expense of the Kings. LA people will try to tell you Anaheims a different market but screw that. I really hope you guys keep your team somehow, and you stay classy Seattle. Nice work, hats off.

Best of luck to both fanbases.

I watched the OKC/Denver game; I saw many Seattle fans there - at the game. One Seattle fan, in particular, sat right behind the bench -- where KD was sitting -- with a KD #35 seattle Supersonics Jersey, I thought that was awesome. I was Impressed with the amount of Seattle fan's there were at that game. Some fans even had large Supersonics flags and posters.

Way to support your team seattle!!

Hat's off to Seattle fans. By far one of he best fan-bases in the US.

I thought it was a little silly but it did make me miss the Sonic colorways.
