Hahaha, interesting that Samueli wants to "sweeten the pot". Just makes it look even more fishy, now he REALLY is looking like a shady businessman backdooring his way into an NBA team. If the Maloofs can't cover what they were going to get, how can they possibly cover even more!?

At the very least now, it would be damn hard for them to justify moving on any level. They would unquestionably be dicks if they did.

Just sell the team to Burkle and let us live happily ever after.

This article shows that Maloofs as of this morning, have every intention to go forward with the Anaheim deal....

The owners of the Sacramento Kings sent a representative to Brea Friday morning in an attempt to gather proof of what they perceived to be negative comments by Lakers coach Phil Jackson about
their proposed move to Anaheim.

Jessica Mackaness, an attorney representing Joe and Gavin Maloof, showed up at my house to try to persuade me to give her a tape of Jackson making a comment about the Kings' efforts to relocate.

Mackaness said the Kings' owners planned to turn over the tape to the NBA and Lakers in an effort to stop Jackson from making further comments.

A source close to the discussions tells Comcast SportsNet that the NBA has told the Maloofs to expect the Kings to stay in Sacramento next year.

The NBA is expected to put out a press release on Monday and the Maloofs will follow with a release of their own, but an NBA press conference is not expected.

The source also said Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson is expected to hold a press conference on Monday.

I haven't been following much news about this since my hometown team is in playoffs but if they stay in sac that would be so great.

they're staying in SAC

http://www.ocregister.com/sports/anahei ... a-nba.html

It appears Anaheim and the city-owned Honda Center have been left at the altar again.

Despite months of negotiations with Anaheim arena officials that pushed the Sacramento Kings to the brink of relocating in Anaheim, the Maloof family has at least temporarily abandoned its plans to move to Orange County because of opposition to the move by the NBA.

Officials from Anaheim Arena Management, which had been in relocation negotiations with the Maloofs since September, were told of the family's decision early Monday morning.

The NBA is expected to issue a statement Monday morning announcing that the franchise will remain in Sacramento and not submit an application to move by Monday's twice-delayed relocation deadline. A statement from the Kings is expected to follow.
