Hassan Whiteside Recalled From D-League

by Tom Ziller on Feb 3, 2012 4:49 PM PST in News
The Kings announced that Hassan Whiteside has been recalled from the D-League's Reno Bighorns. He'll be back in advance of Saturday's game against the Golden State Warriors.
He played 19 minutes a game in 11 games for Reno, averaging 7.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3 blocks. Yep, 33 blocks in 209 minutes, or one every six minutes and 20 seconds of playing time.

Agreed 100% we have next to no shot at the playoffs . We should get Whiteside & Honeycutt a better look and a little more in NBA game experience . It cannot hurt us right now .
I am not sure if he is being brought up to get some true playing time to see what he can do right now , if its because Hayes is still banged up more than we know , or if having both Whiteside & Honeycutt up right now without having a player out due to injury means a sign of a trade coming soon as I believe you can only have 13 guys on your active roster ?

Whiteside would make 14 on the active roster ?

Pair this dude up with Cousins for once!

He is our best rim protector and he hasn't even played a game this year!

Lets not give him so much hype guys...He's Hassan Whiteside, not Dikembe Mutombo.

KINGS RECALL WHITESIDE

I only want to throw him into the wolves if he's ready. I'm perfectly fine with developing him slowly for a few years. Look at JT and Hawes, it's been four and five years respectively since we drafted them and now it looks like they're both blossoming into quality players. With bigs it takes time, and I'm not sure if short circuiting that time with Hassan is too wise by moving too fast.

Didn't see any hype here, it's called getting him some minutes. Hell, if John Salmons can start for so many games I think Whiteside should freaking gets something, not like he could hurt this team any more than Salmons play up until last game has.
