I think the starters were just tired. The first Q was pure transition almost the whole time. Since they just came off a back to back, you could tell they were starting to get tired legs in the 2nd Q.
But yeah, I just don't understand why Smart won't slowly sprinkle in the bench near the end of the 1st, instead of having the starters play the WHOLE first Q, then putting in the WHOLE bench at once.

Go look over my post and find where I want Jimmer to come out
I wanted Donte to come out because he was an extreme liability on offense.
I was the one saying Jimmer should shoot more
If you are gonna call someone out have the facts
Kthanks

Re: Kings @ Lakers
I would like to see more mixing and matching too, but Salmons looks to be fitting nicely as the dominant ball handler coming off the bench. It's shocking in the sense that he has never played well off the bench, but in terms of fit, it makes sense.
I can't blame him for not bringing the starters back in though last night for the most part. Our bench perimeter guys were playing particularly well and our starting bigs were playing particularly poorly. Having Donte in hurt, but the same could have been said for playing Cuz or JT in his place. And it's not like Outlaw was going to help or anything.
I never thought I'd say this, but we maybe could have used Hickson last night.

Re: Kings @ Lakers
Hickson is greatly needed because of what he brings, a big body off the bench in case we get in foul trouble. It wasn't so much that we missed him or his skills (or lack there of), just that we needed someone to guard and box out Gasol. To be fair, Donte did a great job on Gasol considering his size difference.

Bench played great but were left in too long. Have to go back to at least MT/Tyreke/Cuz with 3 mins left. But watching the game I was thinking no matter how well the bench is playing there is no way they close it out against Kobe/Pau/Bynum. Bench did its job, but you have to put the starters back in.
Not doing that ruined an otherwise fun night.
