Keep the 5th

Post#1 » by LongLiveIverson » Thu Jun 14, 2012 2:13 pm

There should only be one trade this season and it shouldn't be the draft pick

Trade Tyreke Evans and Travis Outlaw to Philly for Andre Iguodala

FA - Sign Landry Fields 3yrs 9-12million to be your 6th man

At 5 it is guaranteed that either Thomas Robinson or Andre Drummond will be there. Take whichever one is available. At 35 draft BPA

C. Cousins/Hayes/Whiteside
F. Robinson/Thompson
F. Iggy/T.Will/Honeycutt
G. Thornton/Fields
G. Thomas/Jimmer

Regardless either Drummond or Robinson paired with Cousins gives the Kings an extremely talented front court, with Thompson your first big off the bench. Iggy compliments Thornton, Jimmer and Thomas perfectly and can be a great 3rd option who shuts down the opposing teams best wing.

You had us sign Landy, then bring back Thompson...if we signed Landry (which we already tried him here and it didn't work very well) then we better get rid of JT. I'd rather have JT then Landry anyways...but if this was our offseason i'd be happy with it

He meant Landry Fields and not Carl Landry. I'd rather keep Reke myself. I think he can turn it around.

Actually the OP is one of the better deals I have seen on RealGM lately.

I'm just not a big Iggy fan because it doesn't help our field goal issues from the perimeter.

If no Barnes at 5 this team need look no further than Fields or Batum to fill that hole on the wing. The sleeper there is Brandon Rush.

I like OP's proposal.

I think we can dead the Batum talk though. Portland has already described him as being a centerpiece and foundational to the team with Aldridge. They're going to overpay and I doubt we have a chance. As for Landry Fields, I'd welcome him on the team. I had the Knicks on my League Pass subscription this year, and I'm a fan.

Yeah, I agree. I say we keep the 5th pick, draft Robinson or Drummond - like the op suggested, then acquire a defensive SF via trade, or free-agency.

Via trade: Iggy, Deng.
Via Free agency: Butum, Wallace.

I am not sure we need trade for a SF if we can sign AK to a 2-3 year deal, maybe trade and get rid of some of the guys we don't need.
