The Kings could get cap space if they wanted to. Even if Salmons' contract is too rich to amnesty, Garcia could be amnestied or waived via the stretch exception. A stretch on Garcia's contract would give the Kings $10M+ total cap space to use.

If you strech Cisco, Kings have slightly under 10M. See my post above. That is after JT's rights are waived. Is there really a guy you want to spend $10M on while giving up JT? I say no.

I don't know squat about the new CBA, but under the old one can't we sign JT after free agency and go over the cap?

JT has a cap hold, meaning if we're say, 8million under the cap and we sign a guy for 6million, then we can't re-sign JT for anything more than 2million.
At least I'm pretty sure.
But if we're over the cap, and we use the MLE on a player, we still have his bird rights.
Now that I type all of that out, it looks wrong.
