Demarcus Cousins TRIPLE-DOUBLE

Post#1 » by SacKingsPejaFan » Mon Dec 31, 2012 1:31 pm

12 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists. And a 22 point win over Boston.

So @boogiecousins had a triple double tonight, and not one media outlet has reported it yet. Had he got a tech, it would be on CNN. Smh

A separate thread was necessary because there's not one positive thread about DMC here and this is the Kings forum. All I see is threads about him being traded, suspended, and having mental issues according to OJ Mayo.

First triple double of his career. I can see him being 20-12-5 as early as next year if we trade Tyreke Evans and surround him with shooters like we've been doing as of late. Cousins is the present and future of the Kings. We better not trade him.

So why do a positive thread and then say something negative about Tyreke? There is no need to trade either player if they play the right way. Sharing & Caring. Shooters? You really think we need shooters; all the Kings need is to keep playing the way they have played the last couple games; passing the ball leads to easy shots, then play defense.

Both players were drafted to be cornerstones for this franchise, so let them grow into that and it looks like the suspension was exactly what Cousins needed but let's see if he can play like this consistently without blowing up.

Your Evans-hating angle is obvious.

It seems most Kings fans support DMC but patience is wearing thin. The guy needs to grow up and take the next step.

He still committed 5 fouls and shot 33% which is most peoples arguments against his play.

It's the shooting ability around him that makes it work, that makes this team work. Just wish this team had more shooters above 6' though. Finally getting to see that passing from Cuz that I was pleading for just a week or so ago.

There's nothing wrong with the shooters; it's the difference between a contested and an uncontested shot. Passing helps with this but the biggest help would be Cousins spending more time posting up on the block like what happen against Boston. They were forced to double making it easy for Cousins to pass and get 10 assists; lucky for the Kings he was a willing passer this game.

DeMarcus needs to come with that sharing the ball mind-set every single time.

He's really trying to find the open man since the whole fiasco, and it's shown.

I do think he doesn't deserve a double-team when in the post tbh, and Boston helped him to get it when they shouldn't - but what the heck.

When he's surrounded by shooters like that and the game plan is to play inside-out it all turns easy.

I wish Smart would look up some of the elbow plays from the 2nd part of his rookie season and implement them, or atleast demand the cuts to be made harder and the pass to be a 1st option - DeMarcus thrived there before and no reason why he can't do it again.

23 assists to 7 turnovers for DeMarcus these past 4 games.

Fantastic stuff. Long may it continue.

The shooting % is still putrid, but hey, atleast the kid is trying to win us games other then forcing his own shots - if he continues, his own shots will be alot easier too.

Rebounding is back to last years form too with 12.5 a game over those 4 games.

3-1 since the suspension, I hope when Reke comes back that we continue to run the offense through Cousins, and allow Reke to cut off of him like Cisco has been doing the last couple games. Also looking forward to seeing the kick out to Thornton for three. DMC has been getting our guards some open shots, but guys like Cisco and Salmons haven't been knocking them down.

Amen to more Reke cutting.

I feel like everytime he does so he scores - I didn't check him on synergy but I'm sure he's posting a high PPP in cutting to the basket, and he does it too little for being so successful at it.

It should be one of his biggest weapons offensively.

(Edit, I did check - he has 1.54 PPP in cuts to the basket, scoring 77% of the time when he does so - and oddly enough it makes up only 4% of his total offense. This has to go way up.)
