DeMarcus Cousins per 36 Numbers

Post#1 » by RSCD3_ » Sun Dec 1, 2013 7:44 pm

Malone seems to have been doing a great job getting cousins to mature and not get T's for no reason but he's only averaging 31 mpg.

Idk why it may be malone would rather see 31 minutes of 95-100 percent effort than 36 mintues of 75 percent effort or something of the like ( or commiting too many fouls) either way easily correctable

Anyways 's numbers per 36 which I believe he can play as the year goes on

24.8 ppg on 47.8 percent 2 pt fg% 11.9 Rpg 3.0 apg 1.8 spg 1.5 bpg

If that isnt the most dominant center since orlando dwight idk what is the defense has clearly improved at least individually and he has been efficient enough for a big who has an outside shot with his array of postmoves that is very bynum-ish*

Congrats Sacramento

* Bynum actually used to be a good player and was in his owl tier and turn arounds, hooks, basically post move king who if healthy would have put up these numbers.

24.8 ppg

This is the most minutes Cousins has averaged in his four years in the NBA. If the Kings were a more competitive team I would bet Cousins would get more minutes.

I definitely been impressed with his offense this year. I'm not worried about his shooting percentages either. He is the #1 option who is always creating his own shot. He takes the most difficult shots out of all the centers but he is probably the only one capable of making those shots.

Yeah he should definitely be an all star in the west especially since gasol will have barely been back when the all star game commences. Good way to get him out there in the media

Honestl if you watch the effort that cousins is putting up he is exerting maximum energy in 31 minutes. He is playing a very disciplined game and putting in tons of effort on the defensive side of the ball. If we can get him a little bit more help protecting the rim so that he isn't obligated to deal with all of the guys cutting to the hoop I could see his minutes inch up a little, but currently with the effort he is putting in it's better to keep his minute total around the 30 mark. OP had it right it's better to have 100% effort for 30 minutes than 75% for 36.

IF we get him a rim protector I think it will make a big difference, and he will be able to stay on the court a little longer.

He's played 35+ minutes in 7 of 14 games. Too small a sample size to say the coach isn't playing him the right amount of minutes on purpose. The Kings have been blown out; he's been in foul trouble; he's had an off night here/there. I don't think the coach is intentionally saying I'm only going to play this guy 30 minutes.

I've seen Cousins take a big step in blocking shots so far this season. DMC is avg more blocks per game than players like Andre Drummond and Chris Bosh. That's a huge improvement for big Cuz. Is that a credit to Cuz or Malone?

Someone had to have told him to start using his length. He blocked shots in college and I love seeing him doing that rather than going for the charge every time. Charges are 50/50 foul plays, that's been a part of his problem in picking up quick fouls in the past.

that is a great point. I didn't notice until you said something but I rarely see Cuz looking to take charges this season.

I loved it when Cuz blocked D. Jordan this last time they played. The mic pick d up Cuz saying " Gimmie that sh*t" as he pinned the ball against the glass. Seems he is starting to enjoy and take pride in blocking shots.

Cousins is the best all-around Center in the NBA...and this is coming from a Rockets fan. I love his game, and honestly the kid wants to win so badly. He's already been very productive in his career, and it should only get better from here on out.

I've watched every Kings game this season just for him, but I'm impressed with a number of pieces.

Cousins is the best OFFENSIVE center in the NBA. I would say Brook Lopez is the best overall with his defense.

Can't argue with that, but I like Cousins better than Lopez and expect him to improve defensively moreso than Lopez. I think Brook has hit his ceiling whereas Cousins has so much more room to grow in all aspects.

If I'm gonna give him crap when he messes up (referring to when I said he did a poor job leading and checked out), I gotta give him credit where credit is due. Cousins has improved vastly as a leader, and you can tell he is truly working hard to keep his emotions in check. I don't even mind the T's, I'd probably have more if I was him. He gets very little respect from officials, which will get better as he continues to improve. He's really putting it all together and I think our new ownership deserves a little credit for that, as well.

And he's still only 22 (23?)!
