McLemore WILL participate in the Dunk Competition

Post#1 » by City of Trees » Thu Feb 6, 2014 6:58 am

@James_Ham: Nothing official, but hearing strong rumors that Ben McLemore will participate in the Slam Dunk Contest at All-Star weekend.

That would be sick. ... sorry for the old school cut n paste, phone limitations.

They'll toss us a bone somewhere.

Thought maybe Jimmer would get a 3pt shot possibly.

When was a King ever in the dunk contest? Spud Webb was a Hawk when he entered. Maybe Ben will win and get some swag...

Its funny because earlier in the season I was gun shy of him going to the cup because of a perceived lack of ability to finish. Hope he does well, I will be anticipating what he has in store for us

Terry Tyler, and I think he had the highest vertical at one time. The rumor was he wore leg weights religiously as a kid, not sure if that was true, but used to ball with his son back in the day.

At least Kings fans have a reason to watch something at All star. Can't believe the best center in the league would be left out of an all star game. What a joke. All star games are a joke anyway, but they need to get over this letting sub par talent in because their teams are good. The day they stop letting fans vote in injured players on bad teams is the day the all star game shouldn't be about individual success. Just get over it already and bring it back to what it was back in the day. If not just take 3 guys on the 4 best teams in each conference. Couple years of that BS and a steep ratings decline and they'll realize that the all star game is to showcase STARS! Nothing more.

Normally I'd agree, but there was tons of deserving players out west this year. Nobody out west who clearly didn't deserve it.

Like I said, best center in the league being left out? I figured this kind of stuff was coming when the essentially eliminated the position.

He'll get it on the back end as long as he keeps doing what he's supposed to do.

John Wall had the best dunk. McLemore second. I think the new format wasnt impressive. Ben didnt get many individual dunks to show his stuff.

Side note: Ben's dribble on that dunk over Shaq looked solid

entrance was funny and the ending with shaq putting a crown on his head very entertaining. Ben is a good young player.
