You don't sign Livingston for production, that was his flaw from day 1, the Clipps thought they got a Magic sized PG who could produce like him, problem was he was never a great production player. You sign him for his size and defensive versatility. If he plays as hard on defense for his next team as he did the Nets he's going to be the kind of player that can help spark your half court defense. He's not the most graceful athlete but he busts his hump. I continue to think that if you're a team that can switch on the wing and in pick and roll you have a chance to be really good. The Spurs proved that to be the case even with them no longer being a defensive juggernaut, they were able to switch and they shut down the Heat at times in the finals.

I'm not super worried about that. I am worried about his durability and the fact that he won't spread the floor at all.

Otherwise, he is a good fit.

Was watching this attached video..

Listen to what Van Gundy said at 54 seconds. Not often you hear that.

No to Livingston. I've heard complaints about investing in mediocrity (Thompson, Landry, etc.). So let's sign a guy for $5 million a year that is no threat at all to hit a 3.

I'd be more than surprised if Livingston got close to the full MLE. I see him as someone more in the range of 3 million a year.

That was when Malone was starting IT - Ben - Gay - Thompson - Cousins. That was very good lineup except for McLemore, who handicapped them.

How many times am I going to have to clarify this? "Lineup" is not the same as "team". While we had a good starting lineup minus McLemore, the bench was putrid. It featured Jimmer, Thornton, Quincy Acy, Travis Outlaw, and Derrick Williams.

Glad to see him get a well-deserved MLE contract after coming back from one the nastiest injuries you'll ever see. Saw it happen once, and I never want to see it again.

As for us, resign Isaiah or trade him for Rondo. I don't any other realistic scenario that I would be satisfied with.

Warriors trolling the Kings again, or the other way around, who knows haha. The W's have never been unwilling to overspend on pieces they don't really need. For that price hopefully he enjoys his time there. Near full MLE for him? Yeah, no thanks.

Maybe Liv feels a little more comfortable playing back up pg with limited minutes versus going to a team that wants him playing big minutes. Makes sense.

I agree. Pretty much our only options at this point.

I suspect that you are correct here even though he - and his agent - would never admit that.

One of the reasons that although I am glad for him in his comeback from a truly horrific injury, I do not think he is worth that much risk for our team at that price.
