This game today made me feel a lot more confident with that. As long as they keep it up on the defensive end, I really think they can battle it out this year and at least get close.

I'm sticking with 32 wins. Pelicans are my sneak team. I tell you what if the Kings keep playing defense like this I'd love to be wrong though.

You inferred that Sessions will make this team better when he's out of his funk.
Yes Sessions or McCallum. The back up PG role is not excelling right now but when it does, no matter who is playing, this team will get better.

Oh also on a side note, instead of seeing a Collison/Sessions back court why not go to a Collison/McCallum back court? I think that duo is better suited to play D

You know Ray is pretty predictable for a young fella, we aren't good enough to wait too long for Sessions to recover form.

A couple of more games tops then I think Ray should take those few mins myself.

wanna know what's great is that no one questions who the starting PG should be. Instead we are debating between two very capable back ups.

If only McLemore could hit an open shot......

With the way Collison is playing I really hope those Rondo rumors die down. Collison's production at that salary is outstanding.

I just don't see the shots right now. There are too many mouths to feed especially if the Kings are going to play a slower style game, which they should BTW! They are finally playing a controlled half court game and it's paying off because they have two legit stars to go to. Since they now finally have a PG that can be relied upon defensively they should feed the beasts and keep the shot attempts lower. When you have players that can physically dominate it behooves you to turn the game into a grind kind of like Memphis does.
I didn't mention shots so I have no idea why you quoted my post.

Because it's common sense when you have an offensive player in a "funk", they usually shoot themselves out of it. Problem is when there aren't the shots to do so. What other way is he going to impact the game other than offensively? It's also the minutes. As DC gets more and more minutes and by proxy some of those attempts offensive production players like Sessions tend to disappear more and more. In preseason Sessions was getting 10+ shot attempts in some of the games and kind of owned the ball off the bench. As Cousins, Gay, and Collison have all seen their minutes increase somebody had to get the crunch hammer. Right now it's Sessions. So unless he can transition into doing the things someone like Casspi can do in limited minutes, his role and impact might be non-existent in some games. So this team getting better because of Sessions is completely dependent on how he's used and what the teams needs. Right now he's a good paper weight that is there in case everything falls apart offensively. Nothing more.

Offense isn't just in shooting. You seem to be under some impression that Sessions is, like, Ben Gordon or something. The guy is a relatively pass-first point guard--primarily a drive and kick player. He needs the ball, but he doesn't need to be shooting a ton in order to get a rhythm.

Sometimes crap play is just crap play. Or if you want to blame an outside factor, I'd be quicker to blame the fact that he's primarily a drive and kick guy, and this team currently has zero established 3 point shooters.

I think having two iso heavy star types doesn't really coincide with having a player who creates primarily when attempting to create a shot for himself. It's like in the Nuggets game, he was much more solid but if that wasn't jack hammering your way into the game I don't know what is. Ramon fits in much the same ways IT did and doesn't in many of the same ways as well. Ramon is always looking out for Ramon and he's had a solid career in doing so. His first order of business is to get to the line. In a bench role that can be a good thing, depending on the bench unit of course. And if that's his role what does that leave for Landry? The games where Ramon plays less than 15 minutes will probably see little impact from him unless they wedge him in there somehow. Some nights that won't be a good thing.
