The killers in this game were Rondo (turnovers), Rudy (all-around boneheaded play), missed threes, and too much helping off their three point shooters. If I have to watch Rudy drive head first into three guys with multiple shooters open I might break my TV.

Its pretty clear we are more talented than the Hawks if you ask me (especially with Teague out) but they just play infinitely better and don't make so many stupid mistakes. If we can get some more games under our belts and settle into a playstyle and rotation the sky is the limit.

The one huge problem with Koufos that is truly hurting them is his pick and roll defense. I mean, it's borderline terrible. They need to look at a different way of defending pick and roll when he's in there.

I have to disagree. I think he's pretty damn good at ICEing the pick and helping on either man. Obviously that's going to give up the mid-range game but that's the strategy. His interior defense is all around solid.

The Kings hardly ever ice the pick and roll though. Mostly they are kind of half zoning up or the guards are just running into the screen, fighting over, or giving up the switch. Running more ice would actually help him. Having the guards force the ball handler away from the screen would work better than what they're doing They consistently give up a shot on the pick and pop for either the guard or the screener. Honestly they'd probably be better just letting the guard go under the screen when Koufos is in. Or maybe run some more standard sets liking showing, let Koufos go out and hedge way out. I don't think they need to try and hide Koufos by zoning up or anything like that, he's more capable than that.
