I'd have to think they've been considering a candidate for a bit now.

I don't think Thibs walks into a mess, I think he continues to enjoy his time off, then calculates his next position and makes demands.

Who else is available that isn't a Corbin 2.0? There are known commodities in JVG, Marc Jackson, Carlesimo, Avery, Scott Brooks -- those guys are available. What about top assistants in the NBA? Tyronn Lue, Kenny Atkinson, David Fizdale, Jim Boylen, Adrian Griffin are will regarded in the NBA circles. Any potential college HC making the jump to the NBA?

I highly doubt it, imo.

Honestly I think it would be an understood fill in for the season. Everyone would know, there would be no "politics" about it. Perhaps a Kings insider, or current staff member. I doubt we will get "our long term guy" right after the firing.

They would probably promote one of the assistants to interim head coach tbh.

I think there's a good shot he is done after tonight. If we lose to the Suns and play poor, I'm pretty certain its coming. Probably too late as it is.

I think he is done too. Look, I think he would look good as a coach if he has the right players that can take advantage of his ideas and schemes. But with this current team, they are build more of a half-court, grind it out type of style. If they canned Karl this week, I hope Vlade has someone in mind when it comes to new candidates for the HC gig. Thibs would be amazing, imo.

Fair to the players? Have any of you been reading between the lines with some of the comments made by players the last few weeks? This might be the only way to SAVE the season and honestly even beyond that. Corbin 2.0 was coming from an area of complete flaw to begin with. This team isn't built perfectly but that team was a mess on paper as much as anything. No coach could make that work, whereas potentially the right coach who just uses this team in the right way could possibly make it much better. Vlade built it, he must have something in mind as to how it should play. One thing to remember though is that the players he signed weren't his first choices, the team he was building was probably being built in a way so that defensive schemes weren't as much of an issue because the defensive talent in Brewer, Beverley, and Matthews was so much more capable from an individual standpoint. Anyway, making it much worse isn't really an issue at this juncture. Welcome to ROCK BOTTOM.

The problem is we have fired way to many coaches way to fast as an organization & the Kings organization do not want to be known as a revolving door for coaches . Kings cannot afford to be known to other coaches in the NBA as a fire happy organization this would detour other Coaches especially big named coaches to want to Coach our teams .

If we fire Karl before this season ends I am 95% certain we will promote assistant Coach Nancy Lieberman to head Coach .
From there she either keeps the head coaching job or we will go very hard after Kentucky head Coach John Calapari after this season and I think we could nab him .

I think itll be Iske, isn't he the head assistant and the once who is calling out most of the stuff on the sidelines anyways?

If Karl goes I think Walberg (dribble drive guru), Iske, Carter, and summer league guy all go with him. Lets not forget, Iske is Karls protege and is supposedly someone helping run the ship here. I've read things that suggest Karl is grooming Iske to take over for him when he retires and that's why he was brought in. Iske might be just as much to blame in all of this. It's like trading a face but remaining the same. That won't work, it's time for a different philosophy.
