That's why I prefaced Reke playing SG/SF vs. PG. If he were to play and not crunch the others out it would be at PG which I'm not sure that's the best fit for young budding players.

Bogdanovic would be an extra ball handler. He's similar and he can get to the rim and make plays for others. I think more emphasis will be placed on pick and roll and motion vs. guard creation at the rim anyway.

All that is true but Bogdan and any rookie PG we bring in are gonna have a learning curve and adjustment time. It wouldn't be smart to go into the year without another guy like Reke who has experience running an offense and has the skills that I mentioned before to lean on, plus to have in case of injury.

Yes, but once again, here are the Kings "young" pieces ages next year: Buddy Hield - 24 yo, Willie Cauley-Stein - 24 yo, Bogdan Bogdanovic - 25 yo. We don't need to go in circles but it's the same thing, if you're going to lose anyway I say get the experience while you can before it's too late a la Ben McLemore. The fact is contractually you're already about a year behind, and age wise you're probably 2-3 years behind. If these players aren't well on their way to developed by next year then expectations must be lowered and contingencies must be assessed.

I'm sure they'll come into next season with someone that has experience. Personally I wouldn't mind Collison being back, I think he fits the squad at PG in Joergers offense more than Reke does. Reke is a solo scorer, not a real system guy.

This is the exact reason why these young guys have to have the opportunity to take over next season. There shouldn't be any other thought than what the team is going to be in the future. We can't do it in an off season, been there tried that, doesn't work. And you are absolutely spot on about being a year behind. I can just see Ben going to another team and blowing up in his 2nd year there.

2nd these moves seem very shortsighted, bringing in Teague and Wilson chandler? Teague will be 29 this summer, Chandler will be 30. I could think of much better ways to use our assets.

I think the idea is that if hield was a bit better at handling the ball/passing he could easily get to the hole, he already does now just has serious problems when forced to pass. We haven't really seen what malachi is capable of because in his short stint when he looked really good, he was mostly used as a shooter. I assume whatever pg we bring in in the draft should have that ability as well. Then Bogdan is likely going to be able to drive to the rim.

I don't necessarily mind resigning tyreke, but I'm really not a huge fan of his plays style. He's a bit of a ball hog and while he has flashes of brilliance he also makes some really bone head turnovers. Not to mention he comes with serious injury concerns. Either way it seems like he's playing for his next contract with another team.

Simple and plain if the team doesn't think 1 of buddy/malachi/bogdan can fill this role you're talking about, then there's absolutely no reason to have all 3 on the roster. At that point we should move Bogdan before signing him and look to go after a 3 whose younger and can handle better.

Maybe we can't sign Teague but I think the reason why we couldn't get anyone here was partly cause of Cousins why would you come to a team where your not the man and loss while working with a toxic person?

Teague/Chandler to me are not shortsighted at all they keep us competitive in the now while Skal/WCS/Hield/draft pick/Papa all develop and by the time all those guys are ready Teague/Chandler will have 1-2 years remaining on there contracts where they become assets (barring injury) to teams trying to take the next step in the playoffs and you move them once all the young guys are ready to take over. Obviously there are better options e/g Eric Bledsoe trade or TJ Warren depending on what the Suns take in the draft but I think getting 1-2 players at the level of Teague/Chandler would be good for the reasons stated above.

As long as we sign some vets who have not been average to terrible bench players lately like we did this year with everyone not named Temple I will be happy, but another year of signing declining unproductive players like AA/Barnes/Tollliver to short term deals no thanks.
