Utah rebuilt through development, trades and signings.

Utah Drafted the following guys currently on their team with their own picks or with picks that they had traded for:

Gordon Hayward

Rudy Gobert (Draft Day traded, technically selected by the Nuggets but as part of a trade with the Jazz, effectively a Jazz pick)

Rodney Hood

Trey Lyles

Alec Burks

Dante Exum

The bulk of that squad was built through the Draft, and developed properly. The Jazz are a shining example of what smart organizations can do when they draft well.

its great to get that opinion from a non jazz source and i hope ur right. hood and gobert are obviously players, we are struggling getting these other guys to play up to their potential and why we drafted them in the first place. im afraid we just got lucky with gobert and hood, if snyder can't get anything from some of these guys i think it means lindsey is a bust. imo hinkies most underrated move was hiring brown, for me that proves he knows his stuff. id be on the phone now.

The fact that the Jazz have a lot of players from the draft hasn't gone unnoticed, however....

Gordon Hayward. Drafted 9th in 2010 and developed properly.
Rudy Gobert. Traded (=drafted 27th) in 2013 and developed properly.
Dante Exum. Drafted 5th. May yet be a decent player but the jury's still out.

Other than that...
Derrick Favors. Traded 2011. Developed with the team.
Joe Johnson. Signed. Veteran
Boris Diaw. Traded. Veteran
George Hill. Traded. Veteran

No player of importance was drafted by their team earlier than 9th. Compare to the T-Wolves who have two #1 draft picks and were just spanked by us. My point is basically that anyone who depends on the draft to change the fortunes of their team....
... I don't want to say is a King's fan, but like many King's fans are likely looking for enjoyment and entertainment through the draft because they haven't found it during the regular season. Sadly, history shows that the fortunes of a team aren't dictated by where you draft (again the Jazz and Warriors are prime examples), but how your team plays together.

I'm not worried about the draft. I'm more concerned with how Dave and Vlade will evaluate their talent and develop them. If they can do that properly they will make another Giannis or Kawai

For the most part that is true but it's not an absolute. You thing Lebron would have come back to Cleveland if they would have gotten 2 4ths and 7th rd pick instead of those 3 1st rd picks. Extreme example but best to proven the point.

Right, and when a GOAT type player is involved, and it's his hometown, there's bound to be an exception. For our part, the Sam Hinkie model of rebuilding is like playing at the roulette table. When you win, you can win big. But the odds are some of the worst in the Casino. As a result, I don't believe in the myth of tanking as a way to improve the team. I would gladly sacrifice draft position any day, any year if it means that our players develop chemistry and a capacity to succeed together. That to me is a better guarantee of future success than anything the draft can offer...

... Shy of drafting that GOAT type player born in Sacramento.

I agree and I don't think we need Hinkie or his process. Just pointing out that you can turn high picks into a complete team. No absolutes.
