Sacramento Kings Summer League Team

Post#1 » by VeganKingsFan » Thu May 18, 2017 6:30 pm

I see a championship caliber Summer League team for the Kings.
For the sake of visualizing a team, I'm going to have the Kings drafting De'Aaron Fox (5th), Jonathan Isaac (10th) and Cameron Oliver (34th).
Our youth movement would consist of:
De'Aaron Fox
Buddy Hield
Jonathan Isaac
Malachi Richardson
Bogdan Bogdanovic
Skal Labissiere
Cameron Oliver
Willie Cauley-Stein
Georgios Papagiannis

I see Willie Cauley-Stein and possibly Buddy Hield skipping out on Summer League, but anything could happen.

Our Summer League rotation would look something like this:

PG De'Aaron Fox
SG Malachi Richardson
SF Jonathan Isaac
PF Skal Labissiere
C Georgios Papagiannis
Bogdan Bogdanovic- Playing some PG and SG
Cameron Oliver- Playing some SF and PF

The rest of the roster can be filled out with some of our D-League talent and undrafted rookies with potential. Am I the only Kings fan crazy enough to be looking forward to Summer League?

I could see Willie skipping out on SL but I'm sure Buddy will play.

Yeah no way Buddy declines, and I'm sure everyone in the organization would want him to go too.

I can see Buddy, Willie, and Georgios as far as players are concerned. The guy behind Buddy is the strength coach. I'm not sure who is between the strength coach and Willie.

WCS won't play SL surely. Bogdanovic won't either. But if the draft fell like that (can't see Isaac being there at #10) I would be stoked!
And even without WCS and BB, that team should go through SL undefeated.
How many times has 4/5 of an NBA teams starters played SL before?

:droop: :droop: :droop: tbh
Celtics fan.
We also face the Kings twice in the near future. I think it's time Yabu pays back some of that free money he's been given his entire career and bounces Fox for a nice 2 week ankle sprain.
