Bogdan Bogdanovic is mentioned once but is not discussed in this synopsis as part of the future plans. Otherwise, fairly comprehensive and a good summary.

So much up in the air on him coming over or not, that is why he was left out. At best it is 50/50 he comes over this year.

Super solid write up. The only issue I have is the Kings really only started rebuilding for real about 7-8 years ago IMO. They were still attempting to tread water before finally biting the bullet. I'd rather the Kings be in the situation they are in now, fully rebuilding, then treading water like the did prior to the Tyreke Evans draft. Oh, it was agony. Thankfully this should be a deep draft and hopefully they come away with better talent at around the same pre-rebuild draft positioning this go around.

A lot of what was discussed in the article is "up in the air" too. Will Rudy stay or go? Will the Kings hang onto Collison or Lawson or both? Is there room for Ben given that Joerger has stated he want's him back? Who should the Kings target in FA? The article is largely speculative about what the future holds for the Kings. Doesn't make sense to leave out Bogdan who could potentially play a big part in that.

/\ Not including Bogdonavic as a piece moving forward didn't have an impact on Smitty's analysis with the other players, draft plans, or Free agency. IMO it was on point for the most part.

Good job Smitty. I agree, once Cousins was traded all of Vlade's draft picks made sense.

When was the last time Kings fans felt good about their last (4) 1st round draft picks? For all of Vlade's faults I'm praying it ends up the dude can draft. That'll make up for a lot of his inexperience. Big offseason for Vlade.

About as fair as a write-up we're going to get. The Cousins trade needed to be looked at in context, and Smitty did that for the most part. You don't have to admit it was a good trade, but just acknowledge that a lot of hands were tied, and it was an extremely difficult for Vlade to make.

Sounds like the perfect environment to build.

Those with no forethought or patience can hop off now.

We also took a look at the Kings future, and how they rebuild in the post-Boogie era. You have a few nice buildings blocks in Buddy, Skal and a #5 pick incoming. Like the post above says, it's gonna require patience...but this is gonna be a fun rebuild project!

This guy gets it

"If this tiny glimpse of future that we have seen is to become the reality, it will require the continuing development of Labissiere, the continued level of production from Hield and smart off-season decisions by Vlade Divac. The Kings may just have begun the process of returning to basketball royalty."

Thanks for the link, I think you nailed the current state of the Kings! Good job.

Vivek currently playing puppet master during the draft is the part I disagree with. I do believe Vivek interfered when PDA was GM, however Vlade has said multiple times he has final say on draft day. IMO the picks also serve as evidence: WCS, Papa, Richardson, Skal vs. McLemore, Stauskas

You hit the nail on the head. It was a good breakdown but still had hints of the national bias and misinformation about the ownership and front office situation. Vlade has fostered and grown the org into something that I think will serve the team very well going into this next phase of progressive building.

Nice writeup. I thought I remember reading somewhere that Gay opted out though.

Nope. It was reported first on twitter that he was leaning toward it and people took that and ran with it. The game of telephone eventually spawned tweets and blog posts saying he did or may opt out.

Vlade was interviewed after that and said that Gay hadn't made a decision yet.
