A league source confirmed to NBC Sports California that the Kings have no interest in dealing Fox, who they acquired with the 5th overall selection in June’s NBA Draft. The 19-year-old is considered the future of the franchise at the point guard position and according to the source, any rumor of the team offering him in a deal are false. 47 mins ago – via CSNBayArea.com

If Amick said it I'd be scared. Amico? Not so much.

I'm sure the Cavs came a calling and got the hand. Good.

Also congrats to Cooley, I love the signing. I'm not sure how he hasn't stuck on an NBA roster yet. If Papa goes to the Gleague this year then Cooley will make him step his game up physically or he'll get bounced around, Cooley is a brick wall.

I agree but unless Cooley develops another skill he isn't ever gonna leave the Gleague.

I dont understand this Cooley fascination. For all the talk about how Papa is slow and can't move, this guy is shorter, slower, and less skilled overall. He literally is just a huge ball of mass down low. Don't get me wrong, I liked watching him play in Summer League, but this guy is no where near NBA ready.

Because Cooley actually husles. You can tell despite his lack of athleticism that's he gives 110% on every play.

We have 15+2 roster spots with new rule on two-way contracts. Without considering injuries/rests and possible in-season trades (Koufos), Cooley will be our 7th front court player on the paper. With such a flexibility it is always good to have very cheap serviceable end of the bench guys who can help the team from different aspects.

As I already claimed in a couple of posts earlier that he would possibly be our two-way contract signing, Cooley is a guy who does the most with least talent type of player because of his hard work and basketball IQ. He's one of two guys we liked after mini-FA camp we held. And in summer league they evaluated him further, playing him every game. He did well at every time he's playing.

Even though I'm not sure that he can dunk the ball as an 6'10'' player, he's very though guy that might force our young guys (especially Giles) to do their best in every practice session. Also I'm sure that he can give some instant impact in limited playing time in NBA games because he know his limitations hence play his strength without forcing it.

If I'm not wrong he also posted very high PER in summer league like 25-30. I'm not an "advanced stats" fan, but sure that there are posters who likes it, that's why I'm asserting.

He's an enforcer type which can always find minutes on a team needing rebounding and toughness. Or a few hard fouls. I watched him in Utah, and some while he was at Notre Dame, he can be a positive role player on a good team in the locker room, on the practice floor, and as a specialist type. He's a solid depth guy. If you watched summer league you can see how good he is as a screener as well. The team was better with him on the floor mostly for that reason. Skal and Papa could learn some things from him. Then again, some of his skill as a screen man is that brick wall frame so that can't be taught.

And remember, we're talking about a 2 way guy. I don't think anyone is expecting him to be a constant rotation guy for the Kings. But, personally I can see a path for him if Joerger needs that strength and toughness.

Return to Sacramento Kings
