Then he needs to grow 2-4 inches or beat BB in practice. Neither is likely to happen.

Like I thought originally, I think Buddy will settle into the bench gunner role for this team.

Or play together. The stupidest thing they could do is make it a competition between the two. They've looked good playing together earlier in the year. I don't know why they've gone away from that.

Tonight: Temple -15. Carter -15. Buddy -4. Good thing they didn't let that mismatch ghost jump up and go boo!
Yup I've been saying all year and Bogdan/hield play great together.

Hield is being put in a terrible position nightly.

Fox/bogdan/jackson/Willie all get to run together.

By time hield comes in the game, he's playing with Temple, Vince, koufos and what was typically Hill at the point. Such a different team/style.

Let him run with the young guys so when fox/Bogdan and making stuff happen he can spot up for an open 3.

But joerger is a fool so I don't expect him to ever learn.

I said a lineup of Fox Bud and BB won't get Bud over 25 mins because BB would struggle vs bigger 3s.

What match up has that struggle materialized in thus far? I haven't seen many times where him guarding a bigger player was an issue so great it caused the Kings great harm, it's smaller guards that seem to give him problems. Also, the Kings dictating their defense by match ups is almost moot considering the end result is a bottom rung defensive output when they do anyway. They should look to the other side of the floor where Buddy is probably their best shot to improve. They are the worst offensive team in the league, that's unacceptable when you are limiting possibly your best scorer like that.

Off the top of my head - TJ Warren, Joe Ingles, Bazemore and Prince and DeRozan. I realize some of these guys are listed as SGs but they are the type of size and player I'm talking about that give him issues.

How much did Bogdan guard them? Bazemore scored 8 points against the Kings this year. Ingles damage against the Kings came on 3's. Same with Prince. Warren is averaging 3 less points than his regular PPG against the Kings so any damage is negligible as well. Certain players might give him issues, but I've brought up a few times during the games when players attempted to post him up and failed. Some of them much bigger. He's even shown his ability to defend some small ball 4's. He did a decent job on Blake Griffin I think as well. Griffin scored I believe but Bogdan didn't get run over when posted up. He's a long strong dude.

He'll always find a Matt Barnes to stick in there even if the talent disparity is obvious and the self harm is evident.

He didn't guard them a ton but when he did it was evident these were bad matchups for him. BB is a good player and can hold his own and is still growing as a player but my opinion is that his best position is SG.

This whole convo is somewhat moot because I think the NBA is about matchups now and how you use them regardless of if you call the player a 2 or 3 or 4.

I think the effort to play Justin Jackson at the other wing spot with BB is beneficial in 2 ways. First, it is continuing to develop Jackson's emerging offensive game. And second, Hield offensive game is better when he is the first option and is that when he is in the 2nd unit. In the first unit Fox BB and WCS all take figure into that equation and if we get lucky and get it right we'll get a dominate SF-PF in the draft that can score in the draft that will also figure in.

My hope and future thinking is this for our roster and lineups is...wait I'm gonna post his in the future roster thread.
MAKE IT MAKE SENSE!
