Jerry Reynolds - We Love You

Post#1 » by kalenclayton » Wed Apr 11, 2018 6:11 pm

Today marks a sad day as Jerry Reynolds is finally stepping away from the booth. We knew it was coming, but that doesn’t lessen the blow. I’ve been watching Kings basketball for 20 years, which is basically the tenure of Jerry’s broadcasting. His voice is synonymous with the broadcasts and it’s going to be weird without him. It’s going to be a sad night tonight, but I wish him well. I will absolutely be watching the game tonight and I look forward to listening to Doug Christie try to fill his shoes. GO KINGS!

The end of an era. I've never known Kings basketball without Jerry. Doug has a long way to go to be on Jerry's level but hopefully it will all work out. I wonder who takes the studio role to fill in for Doug? Back to Bobby Jackson? That guy was horrible lol.

Funny how we were just having this conversation on the board. Yes, it's sad day but all good things must come to an end and the Grant and Jerry combo goes out on top IMO. Thank goodness Doug is around to take the reins. Hopefully Jerry pops in once and awhile and does some color for old times sake!

Extremely sad day. He's been around since I was a kid, for as long as I can remember it was Grant and Jerry. Farewell old friend and welcome Christie to the full time gig!

He makes Kings games so relaxing and pleasant to watch and listen to. Doug Christie isn't bad, but I don't get the same feel with him. A lot of broadcasters make me cringe and get extremely annoyed by their voices (especially that guy who says the most ridiculous words and with an irritating voice as the Knicks broadcaster). Kings games won't be the same without him.

I'll miss you Jerry. He was our Harry Caray in many ways. This is really sad.

At least Doug is filling in, would be terrible if Koz or Kayte were the replacement.

It just said "will work in a reduced role next season" does that mean we can still expect him for 5-10 games a season or?

He mentioned he would be doing some pre and post game stuff with James Ham at home games and will be doing some radio work as well. I think Doug is taking the color analyst role full time starting next year.
