You can argue that all you want, but it doesn’t change the fact that it is a one-game sample size. He’s been fouling it up all season in the limited minutes he’s gotten. The Portland game was a step in the right direction, but that easily could have been a flash and a regression could be coming. Don’t get your hopes up yet. I still saw him miss quite a bit of rotations in the game, but he made up for them by closing the gap and challenging shots with length. If he continues missing rotations, fouls will absolutely be in store.
I saw the same missed rotations but I also saw less reaching and moving his feet more.
You can be foul prone and have a game where you don't pick up any fouls in the same way that a scorer can have a game where they lay an egg. Giles has looked very promising, I've been and am still really high on him but he's still averaging one foul every 5 minutes he's on the floor. Just something he'll need to continue to work on.
