Nah, he's had way too many chances to ask out. Even when he supposedly asked out before, it was Westphal pulling a power play because Cousins said if you don't want me than trade me. When the fans turn on him is when this will get iffy. They kind of started to and I did notice kind of a carefree attitude from Cuz in the last game, which was either a really good thing, or a bad thing.

And to me I hope that's not an issue for DMC. To me, Cousins is top tier talent, in a league where top tier talent means a lot, that might not be recouped by Sacramento soon (either via draft or FA). So to me personally, the city actually needs him more than he needs the market, and so it might be incumbent on the market to make him feel good about remaining here past this contract. I know others take the opposite view on that, and would like him to shape up or ship out. This is an egotistical cat who likes loyalty, and you saw how he reacted to Karl's comments in the summer, so I hope he doesn't perceive such things as 2 hours of criticism on Grant's show as harmful to his relationship here

He has played well though since the drama

I wonder how the Butler situation will play out, looks like no one wants his contract and he's looking a bit odd for the trade request

Kings trade:
Ben McLemore
Duje Dukan
Spurs 2nd round pick

To the Lakers for
Lou Williams

Why? Kings acquire a productive win now piece to make a serious push for the playoffs. Risk here is giving up on Ben's potential. Risk vs. Instant reward.

New rotation

Rondo / Collison
Belinelli / Lou Williams
Gay / Casspi
WCS / Acy
Cousins / Koufus

Although Belinelli doesn't play much defense he is an upgrade to the Starting lineup. Lou will bring his 6th man of the year game off the bench. I'd like to move Collison for a defensive wing player like Brewer if possible, but didn't want to be that guy with multiple trades, wanted to keep it simple. Baby steps Vlade.

Honestly, the last thing we need is another small guard on this team. And I've always hated the Lou Williams / Jamal Crawford type players. That lineup is even worse defensively than our current, which is putrid.

Well that's why I said you'd probably need to move Collison for a defender. But look at the value of the trade and with the thought of moving Collison afterwards...., I think its an interesting shift. Eventually DC will request a trade if Rondo is resigned so I think moving him is a matter of When not If.

I get it and the value is not bad. I just don't like it personally for reasons I mentioned. The league is moving away from the Lou Williams type guys which probably explains why his old team dumped him and he had to sign with the Lakers in the off season.

Why not keep McLemore and also move Collison? Personally, I'd like to package up Collison/Koufos/sweetener for a nice piece.

Could you please elaborate what you mean here? Moving away from 6th man of they year type scoring off the bench?

Energy watch for Collison.. I don't want to watch a year of him moping up and down the floor because he isn't starting.

The league is moving away from ISO dribbling guards and is more about motion offense. Good teams run continuous passing/screening action that gradually gets the defense more and more behind on their rotations until it generates open driving lanes or shots.

When you have a guy who's first instinct is to pound the ball, even for more than a few dribbles, it allows the defense to catch-up and fill in the lanes and cover the shooters. The microwave guys (e.g. Crawford, Williams, Smith, etc.) do this too often and tend to also have poor shot selection. To make matters worse for Williams he is also a player without a true position. Not a PG by nature and too small to be a SG. Your classic combo guard.

At the end of the day I just don't think these type of players play winning basketball. Sure for some teams (e.g. Lebron-era Heat) I think a microwave guy would be useful off the bench. But we are the opposite of that in that we don't struggle to score, we struggle to defend.

The scuttlebutt I am hearing is Vlade wants KevMart and offered Ben. Whether it entails more like Koufos (expiring) to make the deal work or a bigger deal being worked on I don't know. MIN wants Courtney Lee, but I think got offered Tony Allen. The other team interested in KevMart is MIL and may be part of a bigger deal.

I see Vlade making some kind of deal as SAC still has a chance for the playoffs. A .500 record to get in is not out of the question. He may be trying to trade Rudy, but don't think that's happening. No question, it would be a blockbuster.

I could live with that. Love to get IT back.

BOS wouldn't do that and SAC still thinks IT is a backup?

Chris Sheridan reported that we are making Rudy Gay available in trade talks and there is a Gay for Ryan Anderson swap on the table. Thoughts? I think this would work out really well for us. Move Casspi into the starting 3 spot with Anderson starting. We'd definitely need to get some depth at 3. I wonder if there's any free agents out there that would be worth looking at.

Well I like Vlade's thinking here. I'd like to see us get maybe another player or pick in this deal. But overall it seems very fair to me.

I reticent on Gays value because of his reputation. Even when he was playing borderline all star ball last season I think his infamy as an ISO would have lead to lowball offers. We will see

Page 4 of this very thread on jan 1st I posted the below . We have been in talks on & off that have been on & off again . We are being a lot more active now . F.Y.I. the trade possibilities between us & the Pelicans have a few different scenerios mine below is 1 of .
If I here anything via my source before anything breaks I will update everyone . Here is the post below or you can go back to page 4 of this thread .

P.S. you all can expect C.Butler & J.Anderson to get dealt this season very likely .

Most here are aware that I have mentioned I have an inside Kings source for the last several years now & that last year before it happened I put it out on this board about the Kings dealing all of Stauskus , J.T. & Landry . That deal actually happened .
Please again remember greater than 99% of all trade rumors though rumors might be true most rumors and proposals never work out in terms of all trade partners agreeing .

That said : This is not anywhere on the internet yet & it might not even make it there as I don't think the Kings will do the deal .

My Source just informed me that New Orleans has contacted us & offered us Eric Gordan & Ryan Anderson ( Sacramento Native & I believe former Del Campo High School star Player )
For

Rudy Gay , Belinelli & Collison

Both Pelicans contracts are expiring & all salaries do fit to make a 2 team deal work

I can see us trading Gay this year honestly but I don't see this one happening unless we are given a future pick of some sort .

To be 100% clear I am just letting you all know I am not claiming this will happen at all but it could & might not be able to happen for awhile anyways due to Belinelli signing as a free agent over this last summer so per NBA rules it could have to wait awhile anyways.

I dislike this. I'd rather have Rudy at the 3 and WCS starting at the 4. Ryno should be a primary target in the off season as he is a local guy in free agency as a high minute reserve.

Be patient Vlade, we need at least one more year before we make the jump

Barnes is the Del Campo guy, not Ryno. I played with Matt actually too.

Oakridge I think

I was a seinor when Barnes was a freshman, then left the country for awhile, so was out of the local loop for years after that.
