Depends on the offer. Celtics are somewhere around $8.5 million away from the tax line and don’t want to pay the tax next year because they will be paying the tax every year after next year.

Anything north of $12 million per year I doubt the Celtics match.

I think they match and then worry about it later. Although you never know, Vlade did sign George Hill to a 20 million a year deal.

The Kings have some excess bigs to deal. Of course he'll probably trade them Hield or something dumb to where he loses the deal in the end.
Im not sure i want the Kings FO talking to Danny Ainge

Oh shoot. He’ll probably ask for Skal and Stevens will turn him into a star.

I'm down for Smart s&t for Skal.

Stevens turning him into an all-star is on Joerger not Vlade.

I agree with you, although I don’t want to overpay for Smart AND give up Skal. I’d like Smart on a 4/$48 deal.

Would rather Capela, who isn’t a bench player..

I guess Masons SL performance solidified backup pg need though

Smart is more than a backup pg. I see us running Fox/Smart/Bogdan/Hield to soak up the majority of minutes 1-3. Temple/Jackson can take the rest.

If nothing else I hope Smart's intagibles rub off on our core. My goodness.

I think Jackson is showing in SL he may be good and ready to man the wings with Buddy/Bogdan. He’s a talented/good kid that may be on the path.

I hope your right if we go that route. There probably are the minutes to go around between the 5 of them Fox/Smart/Buddy/Bogdan/JJ to the small ball PF. But, I just think Capela is worth 5 mil more than Smart and will be a better market asset. We will see

Jackson is showing he can hit his shots when he's feeling confident. He's also showing what a huge liability he is when isolated on defense.

Role player potential. Scoring off the bench.

Jackson is the go to guy on a summer league team. That means just about as much as doing the same in the G league. Maybe even less. It's more of a good thing than bad, but when that role disappears the question is whether or not he disappears. I think he does have qualities of a solid role player but you certainly don't ignore better more concrete options if they make sense. I think Jackson gaining some size makes it more likely he can get more minutes as a small ball PF like he got some last year. In the end it's no different than before, the Kings are either cutting someone out of the front court and back court, or are platooning again which last year is the prime example why you don't do that. It kills asset value.

Mason to me is a different story. He doesn't provide the same types of intangibles. If the team had a need for a creative volume combo guard off the bench his value would be higher but they don't.

No he hasn’t shown he’s a liability when iso’d on defense as far as I’m concerned

You could probably blow by JJ when iso'd on the perimeter. Its bad.

All publicity is good publicity right? They keep their name in everyone’s mouths and it generates interest. It’s crazy how this keeps happening and we keep falling for it. The only leak that we’ve seen come out was the Lavine one. Everything else has been hush hush.

Id love to see

WCS(28)/Giles(20)
Bagley(28)/Skal(20)
Bogdan (34)/Jackson or Temple (14)
Hield(33)/Smart (15)
Fox(33)/Smart(15)

Like you said no more of that bull **** 12 man rotations. If Giles goes down, then Koufos plays. If one of the wings, then Jackson or Temple whichever one isn't in the rotation. If Fox/Smart then Mason comes in. Thats it.

Return to Sacramento Kings
