As you guys can see, Petrie will address the biggest need in our roster. He's hoping Whiteside can show he's worth the shot.

Look for the Detriot deal...it has legs trust me

If the Kings end up with Monroe + Prince instead of Cousins + Noci.... :nonono:

I'm guessing it'll be Whiteside at 7. Its like this: Hawes JT and Landry can all score the ball and have the abilities to do so. What the team lacks is a real defensive anchor. Petrie those are not inclined to trade either of Hawes or JT -- especially Hawes. But Whiteside has to prove he is worth the pick.

I'm expecting Monroe to show great offensive skills. With that said, Ultimately we swallow the cash and stand pat and just pick Cousins and role with a young core of Tyreke Cousins Casspi Donte JT and Hawes

If neither one ends up being a star/franchise player, I could see Cousins ending up like a Kendrick Perkins, while Whiteside reminds me of a Javale Mcgee/DeAndre Jordan mix.

If that's what they ended up being, who would you rather have on our team next year?

Actually Cousins reminds me of a mixture between Sam Perkins(Lakers) minus the 3pt shooting and Kurt Thomas(Heat) all 3.0 of course. Especially after watching that work out. If he can at worse be a mixture of those guys... thats wonderful.

I'm not too sure. I have to look it up.

I think Douby didn't come back for a 2nd interview because he impressed everyone so much at his 1st...but I could be wrong.

My guess is that calling Whiteside & Monroe back for 2nd workouts is just Petrie hedging because of a couple things:

1) There's a good chance (I'd say 60-70% at this point) that the best player on the board at 5 is a SF. It's looking like the Kings don't want Johnson (due to position) and would rather go after a big man. This, to me, says "trade down !"
2) There's a chance that the Kings don't get a good offer to trade down OR they feel like the offer they get puts them at a position where they may not land who they want.

So..... they bring back multiple guys for 2nd workouts. The key thing to notice is that the 3 guys the Kings look to be high on all have different draft "ranges":

- You have Cousins in the highest range. He's the guy that probably will be off the board at #5. There's a chance he's there so you've got to work him out, but there's an even better chance he's not so you ....
- Workout a guy in the range behind Cousins (technically behind Wes Johnson--who I still think is all by himself in the 3rd tier of this draft). If Cousins isn't there at 5 and you can't get a good offer to trade down then you can just say f it and take Monroe but if you do trade down ....
- You'll have a target in Whiteside that you brought in for a 2nd workout. Chances are Whiteside is going to be available at the very least down to 9 (whereas Monroe is gone no later than 7).

Therefore it's just a big if/then diagram:

IF Cousins is available:
draft him
ELSE IF you have a good offer from a team that returns a pick in the "Whiteside range"
take the trade and draft Whiteside
ELSE
draft Monroe at 5

I am a bit surprised that Johnson hasn't been brought in yet. I'm sure we will before the draft, but even if we aren't interested in drafting him, we should at least see what he can do.

Johnson won't be brought in for a work out..and I'm hearing Gordon Hayward and Babbit won't be brought in for that workout the day before the draft as well. What this means is, Petrie is only focusing on bigs i.e Cousins Monroe Whiteside -- players 2 and 3 are interchangable.

Jordan Crawford, if available will be the pick at #33

There is absolutely no reason to have Hayward or Babbit in for a workout, but you might as well have Johnson in...but I guess we're happy with Casspi/Greene/Garcia and want to move forward.

Yeah, huge mistake if they don't at least take a look at Johnson. The only way I see Johnson not coming in is if he's got a promise from either the Nets or the Twolves.

Right now it sounds like it might come down to skill/talent (Cousins and Monroe) vs. need (Whiteside). If they intend to draft Whiteside I really hope they are able to trade way down or pull off the Noc/Cousins for Prince/Whiteside. I think the latter makes us 10 games better next season at least. The first however brings us a potential stud in Demarcus Cousins.

Alot of the questions will be answered on sat. (the schedule date for the workout) Between myself or The Rookie Wall will have some insight I guess. More so him than my I propose. I also was privy to some other information but I'll hold them for a later date

I don't see how Prince improves the team that much. He'll just take time away from Casspi/Greene. I would be MUCH happier with Cousins/Noci than Whiteside/Prince.

Can we really stop with the "I have information from blah blah blah but I can't say anything about it yet?" It reminds me of high school, when someone would come up to you and say "some girl said you were really hot, but told me not to tell you who she was...yet".

I know its teasing but what do you rather...being in on the secret while its getting juicier? Or not being in the circle at all and wondering why everyone's laughing over there

There's no "secret" if all you are saying is "I know more, but I can't say anything yet". Being in on the "secret" would be like "I heard Cousins might be back for a 2nd workout...more to come".

True but I never said I won't say....just not now. It's like that hot girl who likes you and doesnt want you to know yet. She tells me, and I go and tell you. You're exciting and cant wait. She finds out I tell you -- now she's not interested in you anymore and I'm out of a hot friend! Lose lose situation...cut me some slack dawg lol

Either way, it's getting kinda annoying to see this happening daily on the board. Just my 2 cents.

Yes, I will not say anything else about it if that's what you'd like.

I feel that by saying vague things you realized who was being called/invited in for a second workout. However, if you'd like it to be stopped entirely that's fine too.

For what its worth, I now know basically all of what is now public, I just knew 2-3 days earlier and left you to speculate with limited information those days.

I will tell you the player that DECLINED a 2nd workout was in the group of Hassan, Ekpe, Aldrich, and Orton, but can't tell you which due to not sacrificing my source.
