Literally what I said. Do you know what the disturbance was besides the general fans being rowdy that is already known?

fenerbahce fans have kicked off a campaign to convince him to stay one more year in fenerbahce and raise another euroleague trophy in his hometown, belgrade, serbia.

Guess they've never heard of going out on a high note? I would think this is the perfect mic drop time for Bogdanovic.

They heard of it just don't want only one high note. Can't blame them.

like justforrelax mentioned, He is a complete basketball player and i am very sad to see him go. He always mentions about nba and he really wants to go to the USA to continue his pro-career. He believes it is an unmissable opportunity in a lifetime.

He is a great guy, team player, one of the most beloved players in the team by the fans. His definitive upsides are: Basketball IQ and Ability to play clutch moments. He has had several even half-court or beyond halfcourt buzzer beaters in his Fenerbahce Career. When it comes to basketball iq, it makes you feel like when you watch him, this guy uses his brain as much as his shooting abilities or physical abilities on the floor. So basically, he is very good at comprehending the game played for that specific moment.

He is also defensively good, a two-way player. So overall he is a great team player who can utilize his skills up to a maximum point and he will exactly give you what you require from him.

However, i have a concern regarding current Kings roster. Kings look like the worst team for Bogdanovic because of the roster structure. Bogdanovic wouldnt be able to play 3 given his size in the nba and unfortunately Kings are stacked at SG. Malachi Richardson, Garrett Temple, Buddy Hield, Aaron Afflalo and Ben Mclemore are Sgs. So how come even Bogdanovic will be called for duty by the Kings?

I've brought this up before on the board, Bogdan size wise is right in line with the average NBA SF in terms of length, standing reach, and height according to draft express's measurements database. I don't see him as a full time SF but the Kings are moving towards a positionless style of ball and his size might not be as much an issue there. If it is, then they'll obviously have to figure it out. Vlade has gone as far in one interview I saw to say Bogdan can play some PF! :o I'm going to assume he meant against really small lineups of course.

Bogdanovic can play SF in todays game. Only few players still plays post game at PF. For SF position he can hold his ground until help comes. He cant defend Lebron/Melo/PG/Leonard type top scorers especially in post. But thats not expected anyway.
His defensive capabilities against ordinary wing players, guards are questionable at this point. There are many SG's that have better strength and quickness than Bogdan. If he cant keep up with those guards he might bulk up to become a SF like Bojan Bogdanovic.

NBA players have much better atleticism, strength, height, wingspan.
There are many stars hard to defend and the schedule is tight.
So its hard to perform at high level like he did in Euroleague and Turkey.

N.Bjelica came to NBA as Euroleague MVP and he didnt make much impact.
Sacremento is one of the best teams for Bogdan. Any rebuilding team would be ok for him.

If he cant play better and steal minutes from Richards, Afflalo, Mclemore then it means he cant even become a role player at NBA level.

Totally agree. With the high level new age wing players in the league all 6'8 or better with huge wing span's, I want at least 2 guys that can consistently match up with them and create mismatches vs the smaller wings. Hopefully one of them is a rookie that has the chance to be special (Jackson, Isaac, OG, etc) and the other is a vet. With those 2 in house plus Hield Temple and Richardson all in the fold, Bogdan could be the odd man out even tho he could be a combo player like Temple. He has said he doesn't want to sit the bench which I take to mean he wants a mins guarantee, not necessarily to start. Still may be a tight squeeze for him if things went that way. If Fenerbahce offers him a nice pay bump to stay I can see him thinking long and hard about it. Hell, if it is going that way we could even try to flip his rights (along with Arturas Gudaitis) for future assets to a team with a bigger need for a player like him.

N. Bjelica was MVP because he was PF with ball in his hands. Now he is spot up shooter and that is not what he does the best. Yes, he can shoot but he has more to offer but the problem is that coaches do not believe in him still.. He got more ball before the injury and he made impact right away..

I'm pretty sure Bogdanovic is coming to Sacramento. Don't see winning trophy in his city is something special when it is not with his first team (Partizan from Belgrade). Also if he stay in Europe now that means that maybe he never comes to NBA and I can see that only if he wants to be something like Teodosic (one of the greatest Euroleague players) but he is so big competitor and can't see that..

There is to much talent difference with Euroleague.
Just accept this fact and go on.

Didnt believe in Bjelica huh? I cant take "believe" thing seriously.
Its not like Thibs racist or sth. If Bjelica plays good he'll earn more minutes, its simple as that.
Bjelica was quick and strong for PF position in Europe. There were only handful athletic big men defending him in Europe and those guys mostly low talented players, not good defenders.
Now in NBA he is slower and softer than the average. He cant beat his defender and he cant create plays for his teammates, he cant finish with easy layups like in Europe.

With believe I mean they don't give him ball too much. He is player which needs ball in his hands and he is not going to play ISO as Wiggins/Towns. In first 30-40 games of the season Thibs went with bad tactic.. Even Rubio was standing in corner and waiting for ball to shoot 3PT which is just insane.. If you play Rubio you know that he needs ball..
To go back on Bjelica, can't find any compilation on yt except points which is not the only thing he is doing. He can attack the rim and pass ball, he can play pnr etc but for all of that you need ball in your hands and he is projected as spot up shooter.
I don't say that he has to be main player or anything similar but whole season shabaz had more minutes and ball in his hands than Bjelica and I'm pretty sure Nemanja is better player with so many things he can do. Yes, not like in Euroleague, can't be the best player but he can have impact.. Also Jokic came from European regional league (not even Euroleague) and made impact with ball in his hands. Saric, Dragic etc.. it's not that they can't, just have to find best spot for them in team and Bjelica has wrong one. I'm watching him play for 9 years now and he never averaged 4 3PT attempts when he was playing 30+ mins while he is playing in Minny like 15min and have 3pt attempts.. not checked stats but you got my point..

Its not about coaching.
His pnr or 1on1s doesnt work here. No one would stop if scored or created plays with his style of gaming.
Jokic, KP and other 19-20 year old prospects are different cases. 7 footers dont need much atleticism/speed like other positions.

Bogdan is 25 and Bjelica is 29.
Dont expect much development from them.

That's just ridiculous. Its not about coaching? He is playing always in lineup with either Wiggins, Towns, Shabazz etc. players which play ISO and he is just spot up shooter. Just imagine that you have Jokic and use him only for rebounding or Saric and just use him as spot up shooter or take Vlade Divac as example.. Just imagine that you didn't give him freedom to play like he did. If you used him only for screens etc..
All in all I guarantee that Bjelica can be much better whith other coach/coaching style and it doesn't mean that Thibs should go, it's probably better for Bjelica to go somewhere else where team doesn't depend on 2 ISO players..
Jokic, KP are 7footers but Dragic, Saric, Parker, Nowitzki are Europeans which have/had impact in their teams and I'm sure that Bjelica can help his team more but not just as shooter. His pnr and 1on1 are working in NBA, just look at any clip on YT but the problem is that 70% of video he will stand and wait for ball on 3PT line..

Nice article about BB. Fans love him in Turkey and want him back but he wants to play in the NBA for sure.

http://www.eurohoops.net/en/nba-news/468236/bogdanovic-undecided-going-nba-year/

Here are the key quotes

“When I went to Fenerbahce I went with hopes that one day I would be in the NBA. I haven’t decided yet,” the Serbian guard said. “Maybe I’ll leave in one year. Maybe in five. It depends on many factors. I want to leave for the NBA when the moment is the most beautiful. Like when I left Partizan”.

“They (Sacramento Kings) want me to come. I want to but I haven’t decided yet. I will negotiate after July 1st. I gave my 300% to Fener. I have nothing to regret if I go to the NBA,” he added.

Has there been a discussion about a fair asking price? He should officially be off the rookie asking price now so what should we ask him to come here for. I'm not sure about the $$$ but I would want a contract that is at least 3 years. A longer commitment without trade exceptions if he demands high level dollars.

I think a contract of around 8 mil a yr was what someone mentioned. Not sure how that was arrived at but it sounds about right for a guy that has shown he has talent in a pro league already.

Bogdan had few interviews since he came back to Serbia and he said that his decision will be known after 1st July. Honestly I think there is no chance that he doesn't come to Sacramento this year. Even Sacramento traded pick 10 where they could take Monk..

8 per year is reasonable in today's market where most of average players are more than that. By considering the taxes in NBA, no way you can sign one of the best players of Euroleague for a rookie money.

Return to Sacramento Kings
