IMO Reggie needs to cut Salmons and Mikki's minutes DRAMATICALLY.

Sorry, Reggie has coached his ass off, imma gonna give him the benefit of the doubt.

you don't honestly expect a 2nd year player that just got traded to team to get major minutes right away , do you ?

you play hard you get minutes, its been simple...

Sheldon hasnt gotten a shaft yet, hes been getting decent minutes, and will continue to do so if he plays hard.

the big tell was Williams being brought in a the last play of the game with the game on the line, Theus must already trust him as a defender.

Things are just way too complicated and why trading Ron was probably the only real way to open up significant minutes for developing players (I include Salmons in this as well he has really grown as a player this year). It's not really about minutes at this point, more so opportunity. Maybe towards the end of the season sit a few guys here or there, let a young player get a few starts and major minutes under their belts. Just revolve the rotation every few games, everyone gets their chances.

But just for fun:

PG: Beno 32 mpg, Douby 14 mpg, Garcia 2 mpg (AJ ain't gonna be here next year, cut he and Lue and let them go to a contender)

SG:
Martin 32 mpg, Garcia 16 mpg

SF: Artest 24 mpg, Salmons 18 mpg (about what John is playing now anyway, and we know the ONLY place for John is as a starter, period) Garcia 6 mpg

PF: Mikki 15 mpg (old role players get real time on winners no need here), Artest 10 mpg (just to get his time, can't expect him to sit in a contract year unless he's cool with it), Shelden 23 mpg

C: Miller 25 mpg (he's back and better than ever we know it, rest for next year, play Shelden and Hawes alongside him as much as possible), Hawes 23 mpg

With that said I say cut Wright as well and give Kenny Thomas a few games to get back on the court and show everyone he still can do something. No wonder the guys value is in the toilet, he doesn't ever play! Hopefully this is somewhere in the neighborhood of how if averages out in the next few weeks, not many games left, the more that we use as development for the future the better.

It's time to stop focusing on the individual battles and start getting to work on winning the war.

Never said anything to the contrary, I am very happy with Reggie and he is doing what it takes to win games. I just hope they eventually realize that it isn't always for the best in a long term sense, and Reggie gets word from above that it's time for the focus to shift to other areas.

Shelden is getting decent minutes? All the talk when we got him was how he would finally get his opportunity to play. Since he's come here he is averaging about 6 minutes a game. Roughly HALF of what he was getting with that "talent stifling" Atlanta team.

Its all about the math, aslong as we are still alive and have shot to get in, no one is going to force Theus to lose games.

Like i stated, Williams isnt a star, or even a starter yet, he just got traded, he is a guy that barely got any info on Theus style or playbook, and being a young 2nd year players, 6-10 mins a game is decent for now.

Things would be alot different if he can get some practices in... and they will be, just takes time, obviously we arnt out of the playoffs yet, until we are officially out, then im sure we will see the young ones get major minutes.

Your right, it is all math, and Theus's math as of right now tells me there isn't a spot for either Shelden or Hawes to get significant minutes if things continue as is no matter what.

Something has to change and the only thing that can is focus shifting from short term to long term. Which Geoff himself has said they are doing but after awhile it really just becomes lip service when you don't follow through. It's like a drug addict saying, "I'm going to get clean and sober" who then proceeds to go on a 3 day binge.

And I can agree with what you are saying but with our luck we won't be truly eliminated until the last game and yikes! Boned again. I hate to root for our team to lose here but when it's the best thing for this franchise what can you do. Time to take our medicine now, it's been long enough.

LOL at Sacbee...they put "Kings survive in overtime, beat Hornets". Since when did we play the Hornets?

Anyways, I didn't get to watch the game, I was at work all night..but I got to see some replays and little bits of the game...Beno was AMAZING tonight, 17 pts, 8 rebs, 6 assists and Ron had a pretty good game as well, even though he didn't shoot that great (9 rbs, 4 steals, 4 assists, 2 blocks!) Very disappointed in Kevin lately, not sure what's going on with him, not like him to miss 7 shots AND miss 5 FT's, he's usually automatic at the FT line...

Speaking of the FT line, is Brad the worst clutch FT in the league? I swear, if you include the Denver game (although that was Beno's fault too) and another one this year (don't remember which), I think he has missed a few FT's with hardly any time left that made us either lose or barely win. Brad had a great game as well, although, what's with the 6 turnovers?

And as much as I hate Mikki, 9 rebounds in 18 minutes isn't too bad at all...even though I hate the butterfingers on the guy :P

Finally, what can you say about Garcia? Geez, he's been pretty much automatic since he came back...Makes you wonder if he saw the trade rumors on here about him going to Orlando

3-0 since Bibby left! (who got his win tonight in Atlanta, 17 pts-7 assists vs the Warriors)

The other game was at Chicago I think, with Brad's FTs.

Theus was quoted as saying until were mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, he's going for the playoffs. Overall, wants to get to .500.

Numbers tell me 4 more losses and we might as well be out. I'll take it quick and painless please!

I like it when our team wins but it will just hurt our draft position.

At this point our draft position is what it is IMO. We might as well try winning games to have this team and its young players develop a winning mentality. If we can get to .500 at the end of the year we can build on that for next season and try to improve from that mark.

We are supposedly picking in the 11-13 range, one spot lower might cost us a valuable player we could need. The way portland is playing it is possible that we can overtake them and instead end up in pick 13. Im not saying that i hate our team winning but i will be happy if all they do is give their effort to be able to build for the future.

I don't really think it's about ROOTING for losses at this point, I think it's wanting to see the younger guys develop so we can move on with the future of this team and accepting that sometimes losses come with that.
