As always I am hesitant to trade Rudy Gay. I remember that Collison-McLemore-Gay-Thompson-Cousins was a very good lineup, and I am expecting it to be even better with WCS and a McLemore who has improved defensively, and unlike back then, our bench won't be spearheaded by scrubs like Derrick Williams, Carl Landry, and Travis Outlaw.

Just off the wire.

We outright waived Butler and Dukan.

Alright here me out do we make a move in Westbrook?! Teams will low ball offer okc in fear that Russ walk to la do here's the gamble.

Kings: Russ/ Amire Johnson
Boston: Gay/Koufos/Ben
Okc: Smart/WCS/1st

Boston would be getting depth at positions they need

Okc gets a great young big and a wing

Russ/Collison
Afflalo/temple
Barnes/Casspi
Johnson
Cousins/papa

Westbrook is an MVP threat every year. It'll take multiple young prospects and picks to make it work. Lakers could offer the best package for him, but they could hold off and sign him this summer. Although, a Russ/Cousins team would be my dream!!!!

Boston has the assets to get it done without us. No way is there a three team deal with OKC/Bos/Sac where Boston isn't the one getting Russ.

Doubt warriors would have interest in KK after signing Zaza Pachulia.

Would Boston be able to resign him? I don't think IT/Russ could play together taking a big risk if 2 ball dominate guards do work and Russ bolts. On their other hand they want Gay and have a need at C getting Gay/KK/Ben fills all there needs while only giving up a 1st/Johnson/Smart. They also become a deeper team while keeping that prides nets 1st.

Thing is teams would be hesitant to give up much for him. Example La why give up Russell if you think you'd sign him

And I agree Russ/DMC with Joerger and vet players Afflalo/Casspi/Barnes/Collison/Temple/ and Amire Johnson would be a 50 win team that canbgobtobthw 2nd round and further. The gamble would be to have that situation happen go into next years free agency off a 50win team and brand new arena with 40+mill available. If it fails than we loose Russ and trade DMC to LA for Russell or to Boston for Crowder and Bradley

How so?
Westbrook is arguably a top 5 player best pg if you ask sone people. He a walking triple fouls defender can be next to Boogie at 23-5-8 player. The year Judas (KD) missed games he damn near willed that roster to the playoffs. I believe when he played they were on pace to win 42-45 games with a roster of Roberson, Jackson, Ibaka, Adams, Morrow and sone other role players.

No doubt DMC/Russ/Joerger alone can get us to 45 wins minimum. Than add in vets Afflalo, Barnes,Casspi, Collison, and Temple. I think our floor would be 50wins get somewhere between 50-55 wins

At this point I think Koufos and Gay will be
on the roster to open season, even if they are on the block (which we don't know for certain) I don't see where the value would come from. Which is fine, their fine players

Ok I thought you meant bad for us... But teams will be scared if him running to LA so they won't be giving up the house for him.

Anyone like the idea of trading Rudy Gay for Wilson Chandler? WC is one year younger than Rudy. Contract is good for 3 yrs at $11m/yr. He won't score like Rudy but IMO Chandler would bring more of an all around game with the ability to guard multiple positions, something Joerger will love.

I wouldn't mind it tbh.

If we can move KK (& change) for some back-court help, I think we are golden, imo.

Not a big fan of Rudy but I wouldn't trade him for Wilson Chandler. That looks like a clear downgrade. Rudy's a better more versatile scorer and I prefer his defense over WC when he decides to play defense. I think Joerger could get Rudy to play more consistent defense.

What would you add to make this trade work?

You prefer Rudy's defense over Chandler's?

I'd see if we could get Gallo for Rudy and Ben.

Chandler isn't a plus defender.
