Nah, he definitely talks out of both sides of his mouth. And when both of those holes are stuffed with all that Maloof goodness he's been known to talk out of his ass.

Nah if he was honest he would of called the Maloofs out at least once instead of always deflecting things onto the city.

Celtics fan here, correct me if I'm wrong but didn't these jokers want to move them to Vegas a while back? Then when that happened they tried Anaheim and then Virginia Beach and now they're going to Seattle? I feel awful that your fanbase has to go through this. I wanted a team back in Seattle but not at the cost of any existing club...

In 1998 they were minority owners of the team, at that time they already looked into moving the team to Anaheim.

Yep, there are reports that the Maloofs always wanted to move the Kings from the start. They never wanted to be here unless it is gift wrapped to them and everything is paid for.

I detailed some of this history here if you wanted to add anything.

I'd say no. it's a Chris Hansen/Steve Balmer ownership group. Net worth Chris 2.7bil, Balmer 14bil. Burkle chimes in at 3.3bil.
Chris is the front man leading the charge but Balmer is the guy with the seriously deep Microsoft pockets.

Nobody is going to put in a significant chunk of their own wealth in a project like this. That's why they are called "ownership groups". Also I don't see anyone paying stupid money like a billion dollars for a franchise worth a third of that. Sac has advantages here if they can get into the right ballpark figures wise.

Re: Oh God no. Sold to Seattle owners?
This comes from Adrian Wojnarowski October 12 2012. Stern and NBA are putting pressure on the Maloofs to sell to Hansen/Balmer
http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nba--david ... 21709.html
So there ya have it. To a degree it might be out of the Maloofs hands. The BOG/Stern might be vetoing every other potential buyer because they simply want the NBA back in Seattle period.
http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nba--david ... 21709.html
Between now and his departure, Stern is determined to get a franchise back into Seattle, league sources said. He has become a strong ally of Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer's group to bring back the NBA there. Ballmer's group has been trying to get the Maloof family to sell the Sacramento Kings, so that the franchise can eventually play in a new arena in Seattle.
From the league office, pressure on the Maloofs to sell has been growing, sources said – just as hopes for a new Sacramento arena have been fading. Seattle Sonics fans will never forgive Stern for his complicit role in Clay Bennett's deception to move that franchise to Oklahoma City, but make no mistake: Stern desperately wants to return the NBA to one of its great markets and wants it for his own measure of vindication before he leaves office.
As one source involved in the process said, "Stern has enough time to get a team back to Seattle, but he'll let Silver deal with the crowd [booing] on opening night."

If they'd want it that much, there's also the option of expansion for Seattle which would suck for the fans but be profitable for the league especially if in Seattle and having the Kings stay in Sacramento getting 2 birds in 1 stone.
I doubt they go to that extent and veto potential Kings owners, esp if it's Burkle.

Jesus. Things would have worked out so much better for everyone if Stern would have just kept the Sonics in Seattle to begin with.

Re: Oh God no. Sold to Seattle owners?
I couldn't see them possibly go to the extent where they'd veto any other buyer. That would be totally ridiculous. Stern's a douche, but not that big of a douche.

Re: Oh God no. Sold to Seattle owners?
So the league bends over backwards to keep an unproven market like NO in the mix but Sac gets screwed.
If stern was a police officer and there was a kidnapping he'd probably just kidnap another kid to make the parents of the first kid happy.

Dude he just said we wouldn't be in this situation if the city had built an arena, doesn't even acknowledge the city did get a deal together but it was the Maloofs that backed out. Grant also kept saying well because the deal was not good for the Maloofs, even though Stern said it was a very good deal. Also Grant had been on the air saying Arco cannot be renovated, yet as soon as Goerge says it can Grant changes his stance. Geez I can go on and on with example after example, not sure what you are talking about.

Re: Oh God no. Sold to Seattle owners?
Ive seen Sonics fans justifying this with "We deserve a team more than Sacramento"
How does a city that did everything they could to keep a team that just got screwed by greedy and broke owners deserve a team that did nothing to try to keep them (gov't wise). I feel for Sonics fans but that sense of entitlement is ridiculous. Seattle has 3 other pro sport franchises. Leave Sac alone.
Furthermore Spencer Hawes is on my **** list for his giddiness over this.

If Steve Balmer gets an NBA team at least one player will have the Flu every time they play and opposing teams can pull the game plan off a command and control server located somewhere in Russia. Here is the new team Logo.
