Artest, meanwhile, is being publicly melancholic over his potential departure from the Kings, who are trying to include Kenny Thomas in any Artest deal.

Sources told ESPN.com that talks between the Kings and Nuggets, first reported by the Sacramento Bee, involved a larger deal than has been reported. In addition to wanting to include Thomas in their outgoing package, the Kings were believed to be seeking Linas Kleiza and Nene.

There remains a chance the talks could be restarted, sources said, if Sacramento were to drop its asking price, but the most the Nuggets are currently willing to surrender is a package of Eduardo Najera and a first-round draft pick.

So the offer is Nene+Najera+Kleiza for Artest+Thomas. It's a very good deal for the Kings IMO, but I doubt Denver does that.

I doubt they get Artest unless they take that deal. I've been saying that deal(but with a pick instead of Kleiza is the most logical deal available between the two teams). If they want Kleiza let them keep him, we don't need/want him all that much IMO. A better player/need can be had in the upcoming draft IMO with Petrie's track record. Nene gives us a young big that is a gamble, and I'd rather gamble on Nene than Randolph(he's an idiot that doesn't D up).

Denver fans value Kleiza a lot, and I've seen him some very good games this year.

Anyways, Nene+Najera for Artest+Thomas is still a good deal, and with a pick from Denver it's very good. I really think Nene would be a nice fit here.

We'll see what happens, but if finally it's Najera+JR Smith for Artest or something like that... :nonono:

At this point I'd welcome a Nene + Najera + pick for Artest and Thomas. Lets the Nuggets keep Kleiza and puts us on the track to rebuild. Hopefully Nene doesn't end up[ being worse then Kenny's contract though. Bleh.

Nene + Kleiza sounds more right than Najera/Smith or Kleiza. If that were truly the asking price this deal would have been done already.

I'd rather have their 1st than Kleiza--I like Kleiza, but we just don't need him at all.

The difference between gambling on Nene is will he ever be any good? The gamble with Randolph is will he change his attitude?

Sounds like a good over/under topic.

A trade of Najera and #1 for Artest doesn't work under the trade checker. Denver would have to send another player with Najera to make any trade possible. That could well be the hang up as Denver does highly value Kleiza and maybe even J.R. as well, especially after what happened in Miami tonight.

I doubt the Kings want to take a chance on Nene with his illness at this point.

Denver is probably falling out of the picture now.
Canned in Denver.

Agreed, I'll take Nene over Randolph in that situation. Zach is an idiot and doesn't play defense. I think Nene as is, is a VASTLY superior defender. We got offense, we need some interior defense more than anything. With that said I'm pretty 'bleh' on Nene as well.

Overall I don't prefer to do a deal with Denver, considering the factors involved with the pieces mentioned, and how they relate to us.

I'd be okay with a certain deal, but not "want" to do it.

Looking doubtful at best now, anyway.

What about:
Nuggets Trade: Nene, Najera, JR Smith, Wafer, 2nd Round
Nuggets Receives: Artest, Mike Miller

Kings Trade: Artest, Beno Udrih
Kings Receives: Nene, Lowry

Memphis Trade: Miller, Lowry
Memphis Receives: Najera, JR Smith, Wafer, 2nd Round (from Denver)

Both Miller and Artest? Wow. That's doubtful at best.

Kings are questionable at most to take on Nene, and I'd love to get Lowry.

Doubt is beginning to come up that the Nuggets even have the pieces to get Ron. Maybe they should just go after Mike Miller instead.

I would hope the Grizz would say no, but you never know over there. Probably no from Sac, I don't think they are wanting to move Beno. A straight up Nene for Artest deal is more likely IMO.

I'd seriously consider that deal... Lowry is a great future PG.

It's not realistic at all, there's no way Memphis take that offer. The Nuggets get WAYYYYYYYYYYYY to good of a return on their assets. So to answer, NO.

Return to Sacramento Kings
