It's a process, but IMO these guys shouldn't be interviewed

I can only hope that McHale isn't below on the list than these other guys with in face interviews

I don't think it's the matter of Vlade's acumen or anything about management.

I seriously believe that the perception of the Kings around the league is absolutely NOT GOOD. We are viewed as unprofessional and a dysfunctional sports organization. Vlade is only playing with the cards that he is dealt with, imo.

I would be ecstatic if Vlade can pull off a face-to-face interview with McHale at this point.

Throwing Christie (half joking) or hungry college coaches/assistants is better than juiceless retreads

I see no point personally, but we will see how it ends

The person isn't nearly as important as how they intend to play. They do need to have the right attitude of course but they need to build a system that fits the players above all else, and if that's a juiceless retread then that's OK IMO. They just can't be a retread known for a style that goes against the grain of where the team should be heading.

I agree with the idea that the coach needs to be in sync with the roster/management, which is why I think pretty much anyone will fit better than Karl

Doug Chrisite said ET was the Defensive minded coach on the old Kings teams from 2000-2006. Vlade has a relationship so I guess it's worth a look. Kings really searching through the NBA coaching depths looking for the right fit. I'm OK with that.

Interesting. I guess it would depend on how he wanted to play. I'd love to see some Adelman style coaching put back in because I do think Cuz can pull it off easily.

Blatt also runs a Princeton offense And I agree I think DMC can do it. If we had Ryan Anderson at PF too it would be beautiful.

So, who's NOT on your coaching list, maybe that's the question. Seems to be a California thing because the Lakers are approaching it the same way. Any leading candidates so far ??

California thing? Pretty sure Lakers and Kings aren't the first two teams to take this approach. You Colorado fans,

Who's not on the list? Don't really know... News has been pretty quiet except for the occasional "Kings will interview" X candidate.

That's the optimistic point of view. Much more likely however, is that no decent candidate wants to touch this mess of a franchise with a ten foot pole.

With Karl gone and a new arena things aren't as bad as they were... Time will tell... With only 30 jobs, Kings could get a good coach. May not be a big name, but as long as this coach shares Vlade's philosophy and holds the players accountable, things will improve.

The pacers were asked permission for us to speak with McMillan

I guess I'm more settled on the issue. I would have liked Thibs, and literally everyone else is a question mark anyways

McMillan would be an interesting choice. The guy used to be heralded as one of the best coaches in the NBA when his Blazers were doing good things at the time.

Still like McHale as the main choice. Houston clearly wasn't better off without him.

Hall of Fame big man and former Houston Rockets head coach Kevin McHale has already had exploratory conversations with the Kings brass. He is well liked within the organization and thought by many to be a front runner for the position.

Also, according to an article from Voison today, McHale has already been interviewed by the Kings:

Former NBA coaches Mike Woodson, Vinny Del Negro, Kevin McHale and Sam Mitchell have interviewed for the position, with Divac likely to interview additional candidates before making a decision.

Jason Jones tweeted not too long ago that the Kings want to have their coach installed by next week:

Whatever coach that doesn't get in Cousins' way. Whoever that is. The rest isn't too important. I'd rather have a quiet lottery season, than a noisy one.
