Re: NBA Free Agency 2019- Scores Edition
Yeah we don't have to go big this free agency.
Looking at our roster and the upcoming free agency, I agree let WCS walk, and before Giles is ready to start get some center FA who can be a good rebounder, shot blocker and be a nice piece and get a backup 3 for Barnes.
Looking at the available center/small forward free agents, these comes to my mind.
Ed Davis (A little bit undersized for center, but one of the best offensive rebounders in the league and second chance points for this team would be huge, doing pretty well playing backup center for Brooklyn).
Robin Lopez (Loved him when he played with KP together in his rookie year in New York they were a pretty good C/PF duo, Robin is great rebounder and can protect the rim, pluss his personality would be loved in Sacramento, he will need his few post ups in a game.)
Joakim Noah (Yeah the old Joakim, having a great second half with Memphis, I think he still have something left in the tank, he will be very cheap imo he is great passer, excellent defender pretty good rebounder, would be a great ''mentor'' for our big mens and I think he would like to prove people wrong and what's better place for him then Sac Town? Where we are trying to prove people wrong who call us Kangz, just like Lopez his personality and energy would be big here in Sacramento.)
Richaun Holmes (Energy guy never stops running especially in this team he would fit like a glove, he will be the most expensive center from this list, but he is still relatively young and he would not care if he is coming of the bench or starting, completely different WCS.)
Small forwards only two come in my mind, Trevor Ariza and Darius Miller, maybe we can keep and see what we have in Burke, because I still think Joerger did not gave him a real shot to prove him here.
From the centers, my prefered list is.
1st Holmes
2nd Ed Davis
3rd and 4th Lopez and Noah.

Celtics fan.

We also face the Kings twice in the near future. I think it's time Yabu pays back some of that free money he's been given his entire career and bounces Fox for a nice 2 week ankle sprain.

I don't think we are ever going to see a time when Giles is ready to start as a C - as a PF - yep. I would think the main target should be Vucevic. Absolute no to Lopez and Noah, IMO. Neither are good defensive rebounders or rim protectors any longer.
Davis would be fine next to Bagley.
And no to Ariza - I watched him literally fall off a cliff in DC this year. Father time has finally caught him.
I didn't really watch Darius Miller (or NOP much) - so I can't comment on that one.
Having said all that - we seem to have a FO that is pretty darn good at picking up FAs

It seems most of us are focused on centers to replace WCS or small forwards, but what about backup PG? I liked Yogi this year, but I don't think that'll cut it for the next step this team wants to make.

Agreed. Brewer/Barnes is fine for SF. I'd rather get a bigger backup PG.

Defense, spacing and toughness.
Please get a combination of the above in the off-season.

That would be a defensive rebounding, shot blocking, 3 point shooting Center

How do you guys feel about Daniel Theis? A big that rebounds and can stretch the floor that we could likely get on the cheap. Would be a solid rotation big.

I like him. He'd be a solid fall back type if the Kings miss out on other options.

He's decent but seems redundant with Bjelica on this roster.

I see nothing he can give to our team. Too small to play at C and protect the paint. Too slow to play wing. Worse version of Bjelica. 3-5 minutes of the bench, minimum/non guarantee deal is his level. Nothing to talk about.

What about his game do you think is redundant with Bjelica? They have pretty different games, Theis plays the majority of his minutes at the 5 for Boston.

Tweener/floor spacer. Not great handles and dubious ability to guard Cs or SFs.

Guys I like and hope the Kings look into:
Front Court
Dedmon
Aminu
Valanciunas
Vucevic
Small Forward
Bojan Bogdanovic
Danuel House
Point Guard
Beverely
TJ McConnell
Malcolm Brogdon (Can the Bucks afford him & Middleton?)
Also, I'd be intrigued as to what we can get for Bogdan Bogdanovich in a trade. His contract is up after next season and I just don't see him being a $10,000,000 per year guy. Love the guy but with Buddy playing at a high level with Fox I'm not sure his cap number is palatable.

Brogdon and Dedmon would be really nice. I really like the idea of Brogdon/Bogdan coming off the bench for this team, thats a potent dynamic pairing. I also want to look into bringing Shump back even if his role is limited minutes.
Dedmon/Giles
Bagley/Bjelica
Barnes/Shump
Hield/Bogdan
Fox/Brogdan
Bjelica/Shump play limited minutes. Id be pretty stoked about this.

I'm one of the biggest Brogdon fans around but if you don't like the Harrison Barnes contract, I'm not sure you'd like the contract we'd need to give Brogdon for him to sign here.

Brogdon is probably going to command something in the high teens, potentially low twenties per year. He’s so solid. I think he likely stays in MIL for $65-70/4 years. It will probably take more to get him out. I just don’t know if he would be worth it on the Kings.

I agree he’ll go 4/70 and I think the Kings should make that offer. Brogdon is about the right level FA we can overpay for. Bucks can’t afford him. Bledsoe, Giannis, Middleton, Mirotic is where they’re spending their money. I just don’t think you keep Bogi if you get Brogdon. They’d be redundant. Flip Bogi for a solid up and coming wing that can defend.

While I agree that he is in a position to be pried away, I’m not sure he’s a player we should be spending our money on. He’s a combo guard. 2 of our 3 best players play at G. I just think we should be spending our money on a more versatile player or upgrading a position.

Josh fits perfectly to our team and I don't think the price would be significant. I'd give all 3 2nds and Mason/Yogi.
