I didn't detect much care either.

Fox saying he went to sleep right after for an hour long flight really seemed like he didn't care.

That's true. I do get the feeling Fox's answers to certain questions have been a little off for a while now. It's like he is getting sick of probing questions into his play or leadership. Like the question about guilt. You could feel him wanting to explode.

And they should have intro'd Domas' interview with Rocky music and commentary of he just got off the plane with a basketball in hand and already dressed! Domas to the rescue.

Yeah I saw that earlier.

Big yikes.

It appears to be true since the rotation looked largely the same against the Lakers.

Actually, to anyone who had watched Kings for the last three years, it's pretty obvious.

The first alarm was losing Terence Davis and dismantling the huge bench Mitchell-Davis-Monk-Metu-Lyles. Who's fault is this? What does the bench look now?

Then the solid Metu-Homes duo was eventually replaced with Len. And it's not about Len being incapable. It's about someone being incapable to get the best out of Len, who regularly scored 14-18 points when assisted by Westbrook in Washington.

Sabonis, who was the main reason, if not the only, for the team's explosion, had been downplayed from the very start. He was cut from the triple-doubles (70% wins when he does them), from scoring 30-40 points, and eventually, from the All -Star games. Monk is the only King who assists to Domantas.

The untouchable Huerter (3ps+deep bag+pace) lost his confidence. Who's fault is this?

The valuable Mitchell, a starter with Raptors now, was virtually cancelled at Sacramento. For no reason. Who generates the game now?

The stellar Vezenkov failed to reveal his potential. As a result, instead of Davis/Vezenkov Kings enjoy Ellis now. Who's fault is this?

Ellis has not been told that he shouldn't do anything but 3-pointers and defense. He ruins the pace. Not an NBA player.

Murray has been hugely overplayed and overrated. No progress.

Fox somehow decided that Kings is him. Which is not. For the last two years he has been building a personal carreer at the expense of the team. When you score 60 points in a lost game, you are the reason of the loss.

And finally, Brown himself believed that he was the best coach in NBA. Although the team's success bears the name of Sabonis. Actually, if Walton had remained, he would have been named the best coach.

From the wiretap

https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/278586/Kings-Were-Trying-To-Make-It-Work-With-Mike-Brown-Until-Very-Last-Moment

General manager Monte McNair convened several calls and meetings with associate GM Wes Wilcox, team president Matina Kolokotronis and governor Vivek Ranadivé throughout the Kings' 0-5 homestand, sources said. That group discussed Brown's status again Thursday evening after their loss to the Detroit Pistons and decided to sleep on it before a Friday call led to a decision. The Kings did not seek input from De'Aaron Fox or Domantas Sabonis before firing Brown.

Matina?

That's intriguing.

She is awful.

Don’t know why she always gets away blame-free.

She seems untouchable at this point lol

I remember the "Knows where all the bodies are buried" stuff from a few years ago.

It has always been a sort of mystery on what she does here.

Hopefully it is more political and PR related.

The Ringer NBA podcast said that the Kings never held a press conference about the Brown firing.

So when they finally had a press conference to discuss the Fox trade, the first question asked was why they fired Brown.

Apparently Vlade was at the PC? Interesting choice, given the huge news about Luka this past week and Vlade famously drafted Marvin Bagley over Luka and rationalized the choice saying they already had Fox.

And now Fox is gone.

Not that things are any better for the Warriors. Looks like Lacob forced this trade for Butler and the staff actually didn't want to trade Wiggins.

And...what's your point?
